In the PC World. $600 is barely anything. And it's not like you're paying $600 just for gaming alone. It's for everything else that you're able to do. If you do your homework and study up on components and their relationships: you can mix-match parts without overspending and save yourself some money. It might be less.
Exactly how is Halo 3 on GoD effective when Bungie themselves wrote not to install Halo 3 on HDD.
Agreed. Being forced to be connected to XBL is a horrible form of DRM. I was in the mountains for Spring Break, and low and behold: all of my arcade games force me into Trial-only.
We pay over $1000 in utilities and upkeep per month already on top of mortgage payments. I'm not adding $60 more for internet we would only use once per year. I'm inconvenienced because Microsoft are asshats.
I think that both sides need to cool off, but I essentially agree with you.
That and extremists from both sides overshadows anything us rational gamers want to express.
While I do appreciate the uniqueness of this game. "Crysis-like Graphics" is going too far to hype this game.
That's what I thought too. The tone of their language did seem odd, so I showed this video to a couple of friends overseas in active service and their reaction was mixed.
One Armyman said that Apache Gunner was too trigger-happy and brain-washed from the surrealism. One Navyman said that their language could be a basis for dealing with stress. One Marine said that it's hard to tell from anything when you're thousands of feet from the sky using hand-me-down choppers from the Vietn...
Video Games may be advanced enough to portray the realism in war. But ultimately, the responsibility of discerning between the two falls on the individual. I don't think those soldiers have a problem with discerning a CoD:MW2 match from a life-death scenario.
Maybe..... :)
Survival of the Fittest anyone?
Man I dunno.
I can't even begin to see what those guys were thinking. Maybe they were trying to prevent a attack. Maybe they were really out for blood. Maybe they have personal agendas in all this fighting. There's so much thought going through in all that radio-chatter that we'll never know "without trial" whether or not those guys were psychologically insane, or they were just doing their jobs too well.
But for sure, this has little to do with Video game...
I think you guys might've misunderstood him. When he meant "applications": he didn't mean games. He meant GP-GPU. Like Folding@Home or HD-Decoding. That or I've misunderstood him.
I don't think anyone minds the changes to action-oriented stealth, but when you take away a key feature of a game since the first one: that's just weird. It's like MGS without the C-Box.
I use Linux on my PS3 as the best Media Entertainment Center ever.
Netflix and Samsung got nothing on my PS3! I can play any media format that ever existed on this world. Play any music format known to man. Stream photos and practically do as I please. I'm proud to say that I did it all by myself and those hours of trial-and-error with the bootstrap was grueling, yet satisfying when results are so pleasing.
Did I also mention I use my Linux PS3 as a all-in-one retro...
I'm waiting on my hardware before I hop into Metro 2033. But based on the videos: it's my next game to play.
I already got a backlog of "Games to play" when I get my new hardware up and ready. I only intend to play these games at the very best possible.
Of course, until that time comes. I'll be hitting up my PS3, 360, and PSP respectively along with other hobbies outside of gaming. I'm anticipating another 8800GT from Nvidia when they get their boots on the ground with 480GTX.
That is why Hardware-companies invests in developers' R&D Budget.
Those are some disappointingly low-quality models. I see fuzzy bitmaps for specular-maps in the overshied-like Spartan and the muzzle fire. I see overlapping of textures on the inner-thigh of the Spartans. I noticed the kneecap region is one giant mesh and a texture mapped around a single shape to illustrate kneecaps. There's clearly no tessellating between on the fingers of the Spartans, the armor themselves the Pistol Grip on the Assault Rifle, Rocket Launcher, and Warthog. There also seems...
Yeah, Uwe Boll is a terrible director. Watching his movies is a crime in itself.
But an IGP being capable of playing Crysis at High?

While it's agreed that optimization does wonders for giving a game a facelift. There's only so much optimization that can be done before one has to conclude: "Okay...I need better hardware".
