With Microsoft investing in mobile alongside Nokia, one of the biggest criticisms has been the size of their App store in comparison to the Apple iStore and Android Play Store, even though those competitors have had the luxury of time to afford them the growth they've earned. So Halo Spartan Assault is clearly an attempt to reinvigorate their App Store with an established IP while showing that they consider it a priority to invest in this element that people have criticized.

Another click-bait list by another hit seeking site.

Nevermind that there's nothing written in the article to qualify this as the "Top 8 Most Anticipated" anymore than it is just a list of 8 next gen exclusive titles that the author personally is looking forward to. No most pre ordered, talked about or most awarded, no relevant scale on which to grade, ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

This is news, people.

Modernwarnegro?

WAT?

Also, this isn't news, nor is it a very good opinion piece. This information was confirmed at E3 and heavily rumoured before then.

The most notable addition to our digital world in the past 8 years was the introduction of the "Share" button and many devices, websites and applications trying to maintain relevance have found a way to include this feature for their userbase.

Are we re...

Many people feel as you do, that the Xbox One could end up being a Jack of all trades and a Master of none. Its worth noting that its always been Microsofts intention to be able to sell the Xbox One to more than one market. That could be as much a strength as it could a weakness depending of course on how well its done.

That's what we're waiting to see. How well does Kinect 2 work, how well does TV integration work, etc. Will those features end up being worth the e...

I like the author's attitude and I have a suspicion a lot of people are going to follow suit, waiting rather for Microsoft to prove themselves when the Xbox One lands, rather than take it on faith and promises.

Personally, I never buy launch. That's when the machine will be at its highest price and so will all of the games. I intend to support my Xbox 360 and 3DS for a while longer and make the crossover to next gen sometime after a year.

Also o...

I actually can't think of any 'bad' things, only preferences that are relative to perspective.

For all the criticisms it's received, none of them are faults so much as preferences. Some people think mandatory Kinect is unnecessary, some people think the exclusives aren't as attractive as PS4's catalogue.

It's all perspective. What makes something bad for you doesn't make it bad for everyone. Knowing how to differentiate betwe...

Before I was very serious into racing games, I used to play a lot of PGR. Thereafter, playing tons Forza and GT, PGR was hard to go back to. It honestly felt uncomfortable to watch.

However, its also worth considering who Driveclub is marketing itself to. 60 FPS isn't such a big deal for the players who are just there to enjoy the essence of it. In the same way that someone who might play Call of Duty or Street Fighter on a casual buzz, may not notice a lower frame rat...

Am I the only one who accidentally read it as Red Dead Redemption?

Although that would be AWESOME.

@Testfire Undead Nightmare was not the be all end all zombie shooter experience. There was, in fact, very little that was special about that zombie shooter experience.

It would be an enjoyable addition to a GTA game, but I doubt a DLC add on would put to shame a game that was designed from the ground up a certain way.

I didn't see people abandoning their Day Z's, Left 4 Dead 2's and Dead Islands for Undead Nightmare. :/

That this made front page amazes me. Dynasty Warriors is like the Madden or Fifa of hack 'n' slash games, a new game releases every year and, unless you're a big follower of the franchise (or sport) you'll struggle to spot any differences.

Unfortunately, approvals aren't based on the quality of the content in the articles. Approval requirements are very barebones. They ensure we don't get spam from advertisers and we don't get too many duplicates, but they don't ensure that we get insightful, thoughtful and well written pieces, because that's more subjective and thus harder to monitor.

I did watch the gameplay video and I wasn't talking about the attacks, I was talking about the map navigation. You couldn't move that fast and that fluidly in Infamous, but you could in Prototype.

That's what I meant when I said I saw Infamous borrowing what was great about it and discarding what was bad. Infamous had plenty of legs to begin with, but now we don't have to put up with memes about chain link fences anymore.

@dalibor "Horrible". No. If you have no internet and you really were looking forward to playing the next-gen Halo games, that could be horrible.

If you have an internet connection and are looking forward to playing next gen iterations of your favourite franchises, how is that horrible?

Microsoft is not doing anything "horrible". Go look up the word horrible and you'll find that the Xbox One isn't in line with that words definition....

I liked Infamous for it's art direction and the kind of story they tried to tell, the gameplay was cool, if a little slow.

Second Son looks great, but it definitely looks like it's picked up Prototypes relentless pace.

I like it and I get where the author of the article is coming from, but Second Son borrows what was fun about Prototype, not what was bad, in my opinion anyhow.

A true Prototype rip would have to look like a PS2 game to...

This is not out of line. The government has the right to request information that could go towards a criminal case. They've been doing that way before we had cameras on our cellphones and there's plenty of red tape that they're required to navigate before they're entitled to that information.

People are very quick to jump to conclusions based on heresay, but rarely consider the context or get their facts straight. Firstly, if Microsoft were taking ridiculous l...

Silly opinion piece.

As long as the demand is there, it will be fed and the industry will thrive.

You have to be lacking a lot of insight if you think all it boils down to is better graphics and better utilised hardware. What like GTA San Andreas being the highest selling PS2 game of all time even though visuals and load times were better on the original Xbox and PC?

Great visuals and well utilised hardware is more a by product of goo...

@Hellsvacancy I think the next step for multiplayer design is to compensate for that.

We've seen some of that this gen with Street Fighter and Halo where rage quitters are tracked and in future games, paired with other rage quitters.

The most recent example of this I've read about is League of Legends where the community moderates itself by reporting offenders and also praising good sportsmanship but adhering to strict rules so as not to 'spam'...

You know, no matter how great a game is, especially a game with a great online element to it, the community can bring it crashing down in an instant.

Honestly, this has caused me to reflexively use the mute feature in most online games before I even start playing which really is kind of redundant. I'm online to enjoy a game with like minded gamers but gamers are typically so disagreeable that I now go online to play with others at a distance.

Silly world ...

This may turn out like Gran Turismo 4 where the series bowed out gracefully on PS2 and was rereleased as a classic in HD on PS3.

With Polyphony I'm just not sure. On one hand I feel certain they'll have been working with the PS4 for a long time now, to familiarize the studio with the technology but also to get a head start because GT games have such long development cycles and they'll want to release it at a decent point in the PS4's life.
