That's what people who bash on the Dualshock controller against the Xbox controller.
Ergonomic design aside, the Dualshock design has just been around that much longer. So it's grown on people and they're very accustomed to it. The article does make a good point though, in saying that many PSOne gamers have grown up and their hands may not fit that design now as well as it did when they were younger.

It's Edge trying to be 'Edgey'.
You... You get it? Edgey? Their name is Edge. Derp.
Okay that joke might be lame, but you know what I find hilarious? If you look at the aggregate score for Prototype one and two on Metacritic it's virtually the same. Reviewers commend and condemn basically the same triumphs and faults of the first one. Seriously.
Look, I agree that as time goes on, features in games get 'nurfed', publishers want to buck with the trend, etc. However, the points raised in this article aren't that accurate.
1. He states that in Guerrilla mode, solo players won't be encouraged to explore the map.
In Guerrilla mode, your team is tasked with defending a Headquarters. Every 10 rounds, the Headquarters changes location. Once the round starts, 9 waves of enemies will spawn in...
So... A mini Spartan Laser.
I'm wondering if the Railgun replaces the Spartan Laser or if it's a slightly less potent, faster firing alternative.
Also, where are the Covenant Weapons? Oh, that's right... Patience. :P
Ok, like, Sandbox was cool in itself but it really was only one element of Forge. Reach's Forge, for me, topped Halo's in terms of Scale. You could properly create your own maps to a near limitless scale.
Hopefully we get to see Sandbox make a comeback, but I'd be more excited to see a new map just for Forging.
Gee I wonder what this guy's main platform is -____-
It's not that it's a bad list, just very short. We've had so many great new IPs this generation, it would be a task and a half to try and create a list of the absolute best. I'd be torn to leave most of them out.
Also it should be noted that Dance Central kicks Just Dance in the coochie.
The media didn't hype it up to be a Halo Killer, Sony PS2 Fanboys did. Sony themselves also hyped it up a lot more than it warranted, spending a lot of money on marketing, because they wanted to have a title to compete on that front.
The sad truth is that Guerrilla Games were originally PC developers who Sony had bought and they just weren't familiar enough with the PS2 to develop up to the standards of the hype that was generated. All the same, Killzone was not that ...
An article that isn't really about the future of Call of Duty so much as it is about the future of 2012.
The game actually does sound like fun and I'll agree that it does sound more inclined towards coop, but I stopped reading this review when the author misspelled monotony.
A lot of games this gen could have so much more going for them if they featured co op. Hell Far Cry 2 and Assassin's Creed 1 would've been void of any complaints if they managed that.
It should be noted that there are some markets, such as Japan, where portable gaming is the more common kind because of the average consumers lifestyle.
At the very least I hope to see the Vita bundled with some sick games this holiday season.
Dude, the PS3 just had a price drop.
Footages ''Emerges''? There was plenty of footage of this game years ago.
If memory serves, 8 Days and The Getaway PS3 were both put on indefinite hiatus so that Sony may apply it's resources to more established IPs.
If I had to guess, I'd say 8 Days got dropped because new IPs are not only risky but costly and Sony already has a brilliant Third Person Action game franchise, Uncharted, that 8 Days just didn't match up to in te...
"All I know is that I'm glad RAGE looks just as good on PS3, even if it was a pain in the ass for id to do it"
Smartest thing I've read on N4G in a while. Someone who cares more about games than platforms.
@CrzyFooL
Your very last statement is the smartest thing I've read on N4G in a long time. Bubbles up :P
What contract? Carmack works for id Software. id Software is owned by Bethesda. Bethesda is owned by Zenimax. If you're claiming that you can prove John Carmack is on Microsoft's payroll then you're essentially saying you can prove that any game tied to Zenimax is owned or funded by Microsoft and that Steven Spielberg employed by Microsoft.
If your point is as ''unarguable'' as you say it is, I eagerly await your response and your proof.
I don't know how the Chronicles film earns so much hate. Yeah Pitch Black was better, but there were plenty of bad ass scenes in the Chronicles film as well all it really needed was a Mature rating which the upcoming film will have. Death by Teacup anyone?
Yes I was being sarcastic.
