Revolutionize implies that they changed the way something works or is perceived and they've definitely achieved that. People know now that the lack of an actual media briefing conference at E3 does not mean there'll be a lack of spectacular announcements or content from Nintendo during E3.

As if I'm attacking the quality or reputation of the game itself, some childish, defensive and sarcastic users missed the point entirely.

Let me put it another way;

It doesn't matter that there's more to Destiny than was shown on stage last year, it matters that its worth showing on stage over showing it on the floor or in one of Bungie's Vidocs. Plenty of games have more to them than is shown on stage, but plenty of games don't have ...

That's lame. We got quite a lengthy demo last year at Sony's conference and right now I don't think Destiny has anything new to show. One would think this year would be more about the showfloor for Bungie.

What I look forward to the most at E3 is either new announcements or new gameplay, not old hat.

"According to [Howard], "bits of code" that were used in Morrowind still appear in Bethesda games today."

This man thinks we never noticed that The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games mostly run on really old engines :o

In fact, animation being a huge factor for me in games, I almost avoided Skyrim altogether because of it's old ass IK style animation. I learned to look past that and enjoy their games for their strengths and not begrudge m...

It's too bad we don't get a true next gen version, but I'm pretty sure the majority of the hardcore community are happy that Netherealms and Capcom are giving us the best versions of their respective fighting games that they're capable of making from a gameplay standpoint and not a rendering standpoint because they know what the dedicated players care most about.

Then they can mess around with next gen engines to their hearts content.

@BadlyPackedKeebab Nice. I was surprised no one got that. Bubbles for that lil bit of insight too, that was cool.

Well, truth is that Battlefield 4 was the exception to the rule. That hasn't happened with the majority of EA's releases.

Gamers were rightfully pissed off about how unplayable BF4 was but it wasn't a case of EA rushing the game to release and not caring about a finished product. The reason BF4 was so broken was because while it was being developed, BF3 was being patched frequently and by the time BF4's development had finished none of those patches were ap...

Everyone's getting pissed off about all this racism controversy and thinking that it's just a bunch of sensitive people living in the first world.

Its not.

People aren't assuming Far Cry 4 is racist for no reason. People are assuming that Far Cry 4's writing is as bad and racially insensitive as Far Cry 3's was based on the newly revealed box art.

@Lightning Mr Bubbles

Firstly, I doubt it. The "Stories" subtitle has always been assigned to the expansion type of GTA games and fans largely make that association. I don't think GTA 6 is unlikely, I just think its unlikely they'll make it a "Stories" game.

Secondly, I'm glad the Housers and Rockstar in general are one of the few developers big enough that they largely enjoy a creative freedom many other developers can on...

Crytek seems to have a far greater focus on lighting and shading and overall rendering capabilities with their CryEngine than Unreal, which seems to be more powerful where ease of use and overall flexibility and resourcefulness is concerned. I know UE4 also has great rendering potential too, but I really wanna see complex systems in this new genration of games waaay more than I want to see advanced rendering.

You guys can keep your silly resolution gate disputes. Bring me ...

I highly doubt they'll make a direct sequel to Journey, they might expand that universe and it's lore/mythology, but I they would probably be working on a whole new IP.

@Lukas_Japonicus Wow, dude. That trend started with Call of Duty Modern Warfare, that's way back when.

Oddly enough when I saw the box art for this my first thought was of Fable, because their box art has always shown the two sides of the protagonist in the same layout, as if each is looking at their own reflection. Then I thought of Resistance 2 which also did that, but more to show both sides of the war.

I wonder which this box art is trying to show us,...

To be fair, our default perception of a stroke or heart attack is usually a dramatic, chest clutching event on a TV show or a film. It may not always happen that way, though it's usually always pretty serious.

In the case of a stroke it depends which part of the brain is being affected and can be very different for different people.

Technically the author doesn't actually put into perspective how the game assisted him in coming out, but I'm being pedantic. It's still a touching story and it's great that he got support from his family.

@GribbleGrunger I know :P I was just referring to the article. You read about this stuff a lot. With King trademarking "Candy" and "Saga" then everyone loses their minds because they think King is bullying Stoic who made Banner Saga, meanwhile there's not much similarity between the two brands so nothing happens to Stoic and King didn't really do anything.

This is a misinformed conventional perception the gaming industry could really do well to ...

*A Trademark protects the BRAND not the WORD(S)

*A Trademark does NOT grant the owner a Monopoly right.

*There is NO LAW or rule AGAINST Trademarking common words or phrases ANYWHERE. AT ALL.

The reason you've been led to believe otherwise can be entirely attributed to BAD F@#KING JOURNALISM.

Who the hell writes cap like this? It's completely legitimate to trademark a common word. Apple is a common word. Window...

its far too early to critique the level of support. the x1 itself utilizes Kinect through every aspect of the os and there are already Kinect games for it. as far as developers pushing what the tech can do and properly explore it, hell they're still only just cracking 1080p here and there for the x1

It would make consumers happy, but any potential the technology has would fade. Because every Xbox One owner has a Kinect, developers are more likely to support it. If Kinect becomes optional, developers have less incentive to explore it because their market would be divided into Kinect owners and non-Kinect owners. This also means that the install base of any Kinect enabled game will have inconsistent experiences.

If Kinect becomes optional, the potential that type of techno...
