Most of these comments are a classic case of "tell me you didn't actually read the article/comments without telling me you didn't read what was actually said"

Hint: He isn't actually talking about Ubisoft per se he is talking more broadly across the gaming industry and gamer community about people's behaviour online. He has a point. At no point does he say that people should buy their products if they don't like what they have done or are doing...

On the flip side without the monetisation it might not be able to make the games that plenty have enjoyed over recent years and still sell them for basically the same price (once inflation is adjusted for) as they were 15 years ago. The fact I'd that developing a game- ANY game is alot more expensive than it used to be. People don't like being charged more for a product and resist it fiercely so instead you have people like this guy who's job it is to make up the difference and do...

Yeah but that's because the games pass model is broken and is not sustainable. Ubisoft are still giving you their new games day 2 so actually the price is reasonable. Everyone wants things as cheap as possible- I get that but ultimately people gotta get paid and companies gotta make money. No one is doing this shit for free.

I mean that's literally not what the guy said when you see the quote in full context of what he was asked....

Careful what you wish for, china has way more censorship than anything here in the west. Do remember that the term political correctness actually originated from soviet Russia and communist China.

I mean they do make plenty of decent games, the assassin's creed games for instance are generally good games and actually have changed quite abit over the past decade. 10 years ago they released black flag and watch dogs one - the latter of which was actually rather underrated imo. The following year they released unity which was unfortunately very buggy at launch, this was then followed two years later BY AC Syndicate. Both of which were quite different to the AC's that came before o...

You missed the part where ps plus extra has a better library pretty consistently of Sony first party titles and third party AAA titles a year or so old. Also ps plus streaming is of a higher quality than x cloud abd generally more reliable, embarrassingly given it runs on Amazon web services and Microsoft literally own Azure which xbl runs on.

I can answer this for them: your console is selling like shit, the attach rate for buying games at full price is awful and gamespass is only viable if you are going to pay us pretty much the full Dev costs + some profit otherwise we are taking quite a risk as we potentially lose our on pc sales aswell by coming to games pass. So for all the big AAA titles it's not viable unless you have no faith in it and are trying to minimise risk by having MS cover a massive part of dev costs and relyi...

Free stuff at the expense of 3 months without PSN. No online play, no access to digital games .....

It's to stop people buying it really cheap and then just upgrading. Considering people can upgrade even if they own the free version given away during the pandemic though they are being pretty generous anyway.

The AC shadows controversy is fucking ridiculous though.

They gave horizon aswell at a later date I think?

485d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

That's because you part 1 was a full remake not simply a remaster. All the remasters have been a 10 quid upgrade- often with dlc not included in the OG release. GoT, Tlou part 2, uncharted etc.

This is fucking weird NGL not least because the game is set in a fantasy world with magic very prevalent..... As if people couldn't just drink a potion or cast a spell and literally be the opposite sex. Makes no sense.

I don't understand why everyone is talking about it needing a PSN account. I have it and am playing it on steam deck. I tried to link to my PSN and it wouldn't work because the overlay doesn't work on Linux... I can still play the game just fine.

You don't need PSN to play this just as you didn't GoT single player..... That's why it works on the steam deck.

488d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's not mandatory.... The overlay doesn't work on the steam deck, I've been playing just fine without being signed in.

Well in Europe and the UK it is overpriced. So it's 699 dollars and 699 pounds and 799 euros. So Europe's is being shafted hard. The UK less so but 700 pounds is still about 1000 dollars. So the ps5 pro accounting for tax differences should be 550-600 in the UK and probably 650 euros in Europe.

Except Sony aren't pushing hobbyists into anything. The pro is for the enthusiast market. The base ps5 is still there and functions just fine.

TBF it comes at a bad time. Start of a new academic year, end of the summer alongside a bunch of other releases. I know I want it so does my brother but in busy moving house and he won't buy it till he gets paid next but this is on about digital as like I suspect most people would get it digitally....
