Except Sony aren't pushing hobbyists into anything. The pro is for the enthusiast market. The base ps5 is still there and functions just fine.
TBF it comes at a bad time. Start of a new academic year, end of the summer alongside a bunch of other releases. I know I want it so does my brother but in busy moving house and he won't buy it till he gets paid next but this is on about digital as like I suspect most people would get it digitally....

The thing is the data shows Xbox gamers don't buy many games because gamespass conditioned them not to buy advertising and giving away AAA games day 1. It's great value for them but it doesn't actually make business sense and doesn't pay Devs wages. It's why NS is now releasing their titles like Indiana Jones on ps5

It makes sense actually. If you have a ps5 pro or new model coming and inflation and such means it has to be same price as ps5 is now. Increase the price- announce it in advance. Clear current stock as people will go out to buy it. Then, you release the pro at that price point and it looks like a good deal as does base ps5 which looks to have gotten a massive price drop.
Nooooo you do not want to see deflation that spells complete disaster for an economy. What you want is wages and growth to be consistently higher than inflation.

TBF GTA is hardly the norm moat AAA titles are under 400 million. The reasons you discuss are also the same reason for Sony to release games on pc roughly 2 years after ps5 release. The difference is their games sell well on playstation and make money so pc is just a way to milk more from it.
All NS games are day 1 on games pass and that right there is why the need playstation. The gamespass business model doesn't work for AAA games. Just like streaming service business model doesn't work for day 1 blockbuster movies. They need the premium cinematic release and premium digital and physical release.
Most of the third parties sony funds wouldn't exist without their funding and never had an Xbox version in development. All Bethesda games had ps5 versions in development that Microsoft had paused indefinitely and then had to resurrect. Microsoft would have 3rd party exclusives but games pass makes it too expensive. AAA titles don't want to go in gamespass day 1 unless NS is paying ALL the Dev costs + profit.
They need to shift to destiny 3. Apparently it hasn't been greenlit over concerns the destiny average player is too old (about 28) this is mins boggling to me. Ofc they are. The game is almost 8 years old. Younger players aren't going to jump into a game with 8 years of history- generally speaking, there's other games out they might start playing destiny 3 and stick with it though. Equally older players likely have less time for games but more money to spend so if they are capture...
Because it's boring if everyone is all using the same thing and it gets to the point where people will kick you if you aren't as it means you are seen as the weak link.
I mean if it's a VR title this maybe makes sense what with ps vr2 pc support but otherwise going to pc day one makes no sense. Will destroy their console sales next gen like it did for Xbox this gen. Why own multiple devices if you can just own the one device.

Objectively if you can only complete the game on the easiest setting then obviously you aren't as good at the game.... This also isn't anything new plenty of games offer a really easy or story setting and warn you at the difficulty selection that some content or trophies/achievements won't be available on that difficulty.
Well in Europe and the UK it is overpriced. So it's 699 dollars and 699 pounds and 799 euros. So Europe's is being shafted hard. The UK less so but 700 pounds is still about 1000 dollars. So the ps5 pro accounting for tax differences should be 550-600 in the UK and probably 650 euros in Europe.
