Swear this title is incorrect? Soec ops was always available on all platforms it was just survival that was a timed exclusive (and I assure pc andxzbox players you missed nothing... was literally just the mp maps with spawn points for now enemies placed around them)
Infamous 2 originally changed the character of Cole massively. Everyone and I mean like everyone objected to the changes and they changed the design to something that looked more like the original games design but with some changes.
If everyone took every threat recieved online seriously alot of people would be like sat in safe rooms with round the clock police guards lol unless there is a reason to believe this is credible its best to ignore it. With signs that its credible being stuff like a photo of your house or detailed information on your movements etc.
You basically had to buy the 2x Xperia booster. It doubled xp you got from stuff permanently and cost like 5 pounds. I actually gave in and bought it because I was enjoying the gsme enough but I was furious that I felt forced to buy it just to make the game .

Thing is though most of these studios are studios that Sony started themselves from scratch or they nurtured (at the time) new developers paying them and helping them get a foot in the market and working with them to make 2nd party exclusives before eventually purchasing the company (sucker punch, insomniac, Naughty Dog). Which is much much healthier for the industry imo than buying up publishers andb3rd party devs or long standing indie devs that have been doing fine making multiplatform tit...
MS did just acquire like 9 studios though. Also for years despite having a number of studios their output hS just been halo, gears and forza lol
So? Crunch will always exist in some form alot of devs do it willingly. I saw it claimed recently it was still exploitation if they are willingly working the hours and being paid more for it which is nonsense. Also how is this any different to say the retail sector november-mid January?

I own a capable pc but injust prefer to play on my console usually. All this means for me is I well not alot really just that I'm more likely to not get it at all if I have alot of other gsmes to play. Or likely to get game pass for like 3 months then cancel it when I'm done.
Looks interesting but I'm only buying one console and that is the ps5. I could play it on pc but I don't particularly want to. So unless it releases on ps5 I probably won't play it. I hardly want to give them money and encourage a practice of buying 3rd party publishers or studios thst have made multiplatform games for years and owns iconic multiplatform ip's is not one I want to encourage.
I suspect so, I actually think the franchises were an added plus but not the aim. I suspect the real prize was their project orion streaming tech. It has uses and benefits for multiple divisions at Microsoft and would explain such a large purchase which was clearly decided so high up in company.
Sony want to grow their own streaming service and have the tech patents todo it. Honestly given they already signed some form of partnership for sharing tech and using microsofts azure servers I actually think in the future MS might abandon making hardware and partner with Sony. @gottabjimmyb the issue with control is completely different it is just an upres and higher frame rate and some ray tracing (basically pc ultra settings from what I understand). Their reasoning behind why they couldn't just patch the current version or at least allow people who have main game and both dlcs upgrade is BS .
They redid animations, higher res and more complex character models and environment, full ray tracing support, and a variety of other engine improvements. This is the equivalent of the last of us- the last of us remastered last gen.
@darthv72 erm no they are not remasters. They are upgrades- same game running slightly better with perhaps the odd tweaks that noting downloads from the disc is irrelevant. Same could be said of next gen upgrades for games out at release such as assassins creed you'll need pa4 disc if you buy disc version but the ps5 version will be what install itself from the Internet...
How is it? This isn't a simple upgrade. This is the case of insomniac taking the original and doing some serious work to remaster it and use new character models, better environment models, ray tracing etc. It is not simply a higher resolution ans higher frame rate with some basic rat tracing applied like most next gen upgrades will be. Crashes when you hit wave 40? My brother got to wave 120 on a couple of maps (I don't have that level of attention span pretty sure my highest is round 30 but I barely played survival tbh). This was on ps4 though.
