People saying it's to make subscriptions make more sense but I guarantee they'll go up in price at some point too, sometime soon.
Why? Assuming game pass market penetrative remains as it is now i will continue to lose money or onl just pull a profit. Why would MS continue to run it? When they can cut the cost out and make a tonne of money just selling games the games. Eventually, sooner rather than later the investors will call time on it. That's why next xbox is basically a rebranded ROG Ally.
Posting a runour is fine, posting a rumours already reported on months ago and now superceded by new info is not OK.
How has this been authorised. Reports on 2 month old comments and ignores all the more recent leaks basically identifying next week as the release date.
I think they have, hence it's to release in wait is effectively early access to limit the money spent on it without it bringing in money and showing it can be successful.
@crimsonwin69 they announced they had 12 (although that included titles like gt7) but they had so many because they knew they wouldn't all hit the market and some would bomb. The money these games make when successful is such that they only really needed a couple to be successful. We also know what most arr now and sadly the two most promising and most likely to be successful. Spiderverse and the last of us online never released becauae the studios realised it would require too much time ...
Yeah that was a terrible decision but equally it's one decision amongst loads of others that left playststion more profitable than ever and to some extent propping up Sony as a whole.
Ps5 digital is cheaper than switch 2 all im saying.
I hope you meant 6 dollars 20 cent?
I notice this price increase comes alongside a drop in price of the disc drives and it doesn't effect every country. The uk has disc prices decrease but the cost of the ps5 on ps blog seems to have stayed the same. Plus overall the digital version is cheaper than it was at launch on fairly confident.
Erm not really. The coat of hardware and such is all increasing if anything given inflation games have gone down in value since 2007 and even further down in value since the 1990s. What's changed is everyone feels entitled to buy everything new day one and not have to save for anything. Sadly that's just not how the world works.
@michiel1989: alll my ps4 gsmes work on my ps5. So that's approaching 14 years worth of content. Also you say that but it's not strictly true. I own pc gsmes from way way back in like 2007/2008 that literally can't run on modern drivers and stuff. You have to go online and find ancient software and install it and often it conflicts with the modern versions of the same software so you have to deal with that to get those titles running.
First episode of new series of black mirror is for you i think....
Cutting the pay of a ceo or executive rarely goes very far except in the instances whwre their pay is truly astronomical and utterly ridiculous.
I mean ideally your pay should go up every year....
And if we all had that attitude we'd have no gsmes that anyone actually enjoyed. Parasite.
Yes but the point is becauae of inflation they haven't actually increased the cost of gsmes. In real terms they have fallen since say 2008. If your pay doesn't increase with inflation you say you have gotten poorer in real terms right? Well if a game doesn't increase in price in line with inflation then it's value has decreased.
Typically this actually happens fastest to gsmes that sell really well. (Call of duty aside). The reason is, if it's sold loads of copies the publishers know itd reached most of its potential market. So they reduce the price because there are going to be people that were never going to buy it full price but they might at a discount. It means it continues to sell and makes money. If they kept it at launch price without any sales- it's sales would just taper off to zero.
Well said. Someone with a brain.
Thry didn't buy the stufio they created the studio. Big difference.
