Not sure I buy all of this, most Devs sing songs praises when it comes to collaborating with them these days. I feel like the other side to this story would be interesting to hear.
Is this a shock? What with the latest budget and even more tax rises. The income groups who should be able to afford stuff can't as they are being hammered. These things use energy and that's the most expensive in the world here in the UK due to GREEN energy subsidies etc. Also in this economic environment waiting for black Friday sales will be more important and that will count into December sales because of when it is alot of the time.
Ok but the cost of 32gb of RAM is also extortionate and will be for foreseeable future.... This isn't about value really the author has used the wrong term it's about affordability now. That price for ram means that even a mid-low end of becomes extortionate to build yourself. OEM's and manufacturers like Sony will have long term agreements with the RAM production companies that mean even if prices increase for them it won't be anywhere near as severe as for consumers buying ...
Sales don't include the copies they gave away FFS... Also they announced HZD sales of like 20 million before that happened.
Microsoft does have a history of running things into the ground simply because they don't innovate or give products breathing space. I fully expect in the long term they will manage the same with Call of Duty and will kill it, just as they killed Halo and Forza and many other IP's over the years. This also extends to things like windows phones and such. They just were not competitive and did not listen to consumers.
I mean it may have run it all but I assure you black ops 7 is fucking awful.
The first sold in the region of 20 million on ps alone. The sequel did less mainly cos sony used it as an experiment with ps plus.
Gsmes pass isnt that popular. Thr chsrts on playstation and pc show plenty of people buying new games infact they show revenues increasing. The people stuck on one or two GAAS titles are the kind of people that only ever played 1 or 2 games a year anyway.
Wouldnt bother shadows got boring fast. Looked pretty but thst was about it.
It has solo matchmaking wtf?
This is a terrible idea. It may not be pvp but that dlesnt mean thst having loads of pc players cheating wouldn't ruin the experience.
All thats gonna happen here is according to all the leaks sony are tsrgeting affordability whilst still having something comparable in terms of performance. Sony may even choose to subsidise the price more in order to capture market share from xbox early on next gen. So you will end up with a ps6 with comparable performance that is literally half the price of the xbox. How do we think that will go for microsoft?
"Take the game from what wpuld otherwise be a high 80s/90s score on metacritic to mid 70's" given we all know everyone is playing it for the MP, unless the campaign is like broken or truly terrible- both of which I doubt it will be, should it really have a major impact on the score given the multiplayer seems to be aolid and has lots of content. It seems strange to me to mark it down signifciantly for what is ultimately additional content and gameplay being similar to mp- should...
Storyline may be similar to ac shadows but thats not really a valid complaint. They wrre developed at the same time and its a calssic trope for this genre and many others. No one saw john wick and went "ahh this is crap cos its a revenge movie" or no one sane worth listening to anyway.
Regardless thie has all the hallmarks of simething thqt is going to be a great example of the law of unintended consequences. People will get their wish, but ut wont be what they actually wanted I fear.
Personally im hoping they went bacl to their pitch of a resistance game.... retribution on psp was so good. That could then be a singleplayer focusws campaign with then multiplayer and a coop mode aswell.
For the most part they are. Its only the new studios they shut, or ones thwt hadnt performed for a long time.
You say that but pc is still a potentially attractive option to many, yeah you lose your backwards compatible library but how many people really play many last gen games after 3-4 years of that gen ending? Next gen is coming and if you can get a good pc and play all xbox, ps5 and pc games or buy an Xbox and play most Xbox games on pc too....
@shinXseijuro yeah they might gain more money short term but it harms their platform. If you know ps games are going to xbox and xbox is say cheaper then why would you buy a playstation. Sony makes most of their money from the cut they get of games sold on their store. This is where Microsoft messed up, they went day and date on pc and games pass and lost half their userbase which lost them the third party revenue. Now they had the pockets to try and 'correct' this buy buying two of t...
Doesn't change the fact it is a steaming pile of shit really ....
