You may think that comparing the two would make killzone 2 a great game just because its compared to crysis. But this isn't the media doing it. It's some blogger that nobody knows about. So in that respect the media isn't comparing killzone 2 to crysis because there's still so much of a gap it's not even funny.
If you wanna debate gameplay wise. Crysis is not a hard game to beat. There's a reason it only sold 84k in its first month. well two reasons actu...
well nowadays my pc is would cost around 650 (probably less now) to build and I can play crysis on high at 35fps. 1280x1024 noxAA. I beat the game with this setting actually.
I was messing around with Vista and dx10 crysis the other day. I didn't have a problem with it at very high 0xAA 1280x1024. But this was only messing around the beginning part of the game. I would imagine the scenario "assault" would probably strain it to around 20-25frames

But to go on like Crysis is a hit game for the pc gave me a good laugh. Even though Crysis did indeed break the one million sold barrier.

I think what you guys mean is genre wise. Technically Counterstrikes numbers would beat Halo. But in the midst of this fanboy war, sony and M$ fans always seem to forget about PC and Wii.

Eye candy seems to be the new flavor of the month...2009/2010 is really gonna suck if devs start thinking this way.
This is why it's bad to hype a game. If you've noticed a lot of people are surprised. Even if it's selling decent the hype drew more attention to it then it could handle.
Like someone above me wrote. It would be bad if Killzone II shares the same fate. Extremely bad. I personally don't want to see 4 years of anyone's work and 60 million dollars take a nosedive.
If that happens then the future of ps3 exclusives would be in serious trouble.

if the IGN video has the same level of AI as the final version....this could easily be cut down to 5
so according to this and the nielson ratings "Minutes played" 60% of 360 play a lot more the 80% than ps3 users....

neg it will be up to Valve to determine if they want to port it to ps3. It's not EA's game it's Valves. EA was just in charge of publishing it on 360.
While it's true that Halo may have defined the xbox. You have to remember this was because it was the first game to bring pc-like online play to the table. Haze could have had Halo like success if it was the first to accomplish this. Unfortunatly I don't believe Killzone 2 can bring anything to the table like the original Halo did. I don't think eye candy alone is gonna do it. Eye candy also has also proven that it's not a major factor in selling games. (see crysis) (see l4d vs. Far cry 2)

true to some extent minus the capslock rage. Most pc gamers won't even acknowledge Halo as a real first person shooter. That's including me. It's just a mediocre shooter that was the first to bring pc like online play to the table. That's it.
However saying it was killed before it came out is just a fanboy statement. Even though pc gamers can't acknowledge halo as a real fps they can't ignore that it sold what it did.
No offense but with all this hype going about. This was to be expected. Acting as if it was never meant to be compared to Halo won't do anything for your argument now. You guys put this game up on a pedestal and the media took notice. This is what's gonna happen. This is why hype is a bad thing. The media is expecting a Halo killer, even a Halo competitor now and it's not their fault really. That blame gets pushed onto everyone every site that contributed to the hype.

10 weeks + 1 month is = over 3 months dude. Why are these numbers being thrown around as fact. A quarter of the year is MISSING in those numbers.
Singleplayer looks nice. You can see the cod4 elements to it. Graphics are nice for a console. You can tell a lot of work into it. But I cant see myself playing this a year down the road. I gonna seriously gonna have to think about which console route to go. I'll probably wait and see if there's any unannounced 360 titles before I make a decision. And no I'm not looking forward to Halo whatever its called. I personally hate the Halo franchise but I'm determined to buy a console this year. <...
