"the winner has always been the one who has the most fun. "
lol what the cheese is this?
lol oh man eagle gave me a good laugh...n4g is the best place to go if you want to laugh at fanboy retards.
some advice though. Don't try so hard when you know you've failed. Just suck it up and move on.
"Arstechnica is a PC/Windows/Microsoft site."
Ars is a first and foremost a pc gamer/pc tech site. They have absolutely no interest in the console fanboy war. They would instantly rip M$ a new one should the situation arise.
im born and raised in california myself and I lol'd at disc read errors comment. seriously SF don't be a try hard.
on that note out of about 15-20 people that have consoles. about 3-4 have ps3's the rest game on 360's. I'm a pc gamer waiting to see how kz2 is before I buy a console. At the moment it's looking like I'll be gettin a 360.
Don't forget development costs for diablo 3 and starcraft II is probably the main reason for this.
pc shooters sell well if theres a good online experience involved. key gens and cracks almost never allow you to join in on the online fun.
Kind of wish Valve/steam and direct2drive would release their sales numbers so that this pc gaming is dying and being taken over by pirates myth would go away. I'm not saying pirating is not there because torrent sites would prove me wrong. I'm just saying this it's based around the NPD's numbers.
The problem with that is that al...
as a pc gamer myself I'll even say its a smart move not making it a pc title. pc gamers are not swayed by graphics and are 10x more picky about shooters than console gamers. I myself would skip this title if it was on pc.
just looks like any other shooter.
NPD numbers only take into account boxed sales. seriously none of my pc friends and teammates have went out and bought a game at the store in years.
I think my last boxed game was battlefield 2. everything else I bought over steam.
coming from a pc gamers perspective. I own neither a 360 or a ps3 and have hated M$ since the 90's. But you and dread are absolutely right. I've been wandering n4g for a few months now trying to decide which console to buy. To tell the truth the community here at n4g almost makes me NOT want to buy a ps3.
A major source of my entertainment on n4g is reading the articles that I know the ps3 fanboys will be screaming bloody murder in. They usually provide some good laughs.
...
Well its not unheard of. 4-5 digit steam id's can be sold to some kid that wants ppl to think he's been gaming on steam since its release.
You'd think the sniper rifle that gave birth to FPS Doug and "BOOM HEADSHOT!!!!" would be on that list...
for you console people, I'm obviously referring to the awp. seriously just google "boom headshot" to see what I mean
the problem with that is that in video games, a good scope doesn't camp
some of the prettiest and kewlest kills of all time were probably done with the awp.
sure a noob can get a random kill with it but in the right hands you'd better come out with ur crosshairs already planted on the dudes head or get a well placed twitch shot or its over.
seriously pro awp users are looked up to and idolized in the pc gaming community. as pathetic as that sounds...
of course getting a headshot on a chopper or jet pilot as he flew by with...
/epic facepalm...
a guy further up explained this already so I won't bother.
Don't know about this guy..he doesn't come off as a pc gamer and doesn't list any games he's played which is a common habit among pc gamers. His article comes off as a review more than a "Pc gamer perspective"
that and what pc gamer refers to iron sights as "looking down the sights" (minor nitpick)
your quote
"Turtle Rock Studios did not make L4D"
my reply "yes they did"
your article - "michael booth had some dudes from Valve HELP him for 2 years in R&D on the idea"
my take on your own article.
turtle rock studios made left 4 dead. anything else?
"On November 20 2006, Turtle Rock announced Left 4 Dead, a co-operative multiplayer action game. The game is built atop the most advanced version of the Source Engine to date and introduces version 2 of Turtle Rock's AI technology, which had since been updated from the AI used for the bots in Condition Zero. The game released on Microsoft Windows and the Xbox 360 in November 2008.[1]
On 10 January 2008, Valve Corporation announced that they had acquired Turtle Rock Studios.[...
the problem with cod4 is that its not a tactical shooter in online play. It's a set nade > rush > hold spot fest. counterstrike and team fortress 2 require more tactics and teamwork.
bet $800-$1000 wasnt much of an issue when you bought your hdtv for ur console right?
clearly raging over edge magazine kz2 score and gabe newell's prior comments on ps3. How about you get over it and play the damn game before you comment on it and leave the game politics out of it.
