Uhhh MS has nothing to do with viacom. Viacom is its own media conglomerate no one owns it. MTV is owned by viacom and CNET by CBS, CBS is owned by Viacom.
Also I find that a lot of people believe MS owns NBC, which is also untrue. As that is owned by General Electric.
these conglomerates are often referred to as the big 5. You have Time Warner, Viacom, Clear Channel, Disney, and News Corp. None of which are partnered with Microsoft.
In fact you should b...
agreed with nai word for word. I'm strictly a competitive fps gamer, that plays cs and cod in leagues like cal and cevo. However My little brother got a 360 and gears 2 for christmas and I found myself having tons of fun with it.
Though when my team mates and I have some down time we are usually playing l4d.
@ nrg...good point. I guess I kind of overdid it there knowing full well what you said is true. I'll just leave what I said at that and let whomever may see them, come to their own conclusion
about $600 when i bought it but heres a pricing with todays prices...
hd3870 ($89), 2gb gskill ddr2 800 ($30), x2 5400 Black Edition Oc'd @ 3.2ghz ($68), cheap biostar am2 board ($59) heatsink ($25),case ($54),power supply ($60), 2 250gb hard drives (85),dvd-burner ($21),
$491 with todays prices. throw in another 50-60 bucks for speakers, mouse, and keyboard and its still around $550
I won't list the monitor as it was a christmas gift and to do so would...
looks good for a console. There's a reason this author was careful not claim best graphics ever. Crysis is indeed the game that takes this crown.

a shootout between the two? what the heck, WaW is a carbon copy of modern warfare...hell even the menus look the same. WaW is just for people who wondered what cod4 would look like if it was ww2 based.
Me and my team tried it. we played it for a day and went back to cod4 promod for competitive play. I personally didn't even finish the campaign mode.
To be honest, I find myself annoyed with the ps3 fans. Most just can't be reasoned with and I would love to tell them the PS3 is dying.
However, To do so would be living in denial. Sure there's things Sony needs to do to make sure ps3 continues to compete. However the ps3 needs to be saved myth is very much like the pc gaming is dying because of piracy myth. I believe the pc myth would be busted once and for all should Valve ever release their steam sales figures. But back on to...
wrong...256 video memory in the RSX has it's limit...The cell or any cpu does not have the power to take over the worload of texture rendering. You can sit there and pretend the cell can do anything. But in the tech world it's an old technology. I will admit again that for it's time it was a technological wonder. However that wonder will always be held down by the bottleneck that is RSX.
Truth be told and realistically. The PS3 probably won't see graphics any better than mgs4 an...
30fps @ 2aa on a 720 res is honestly nothing to brag about. I hope your not implying Kz2 is going to be a graphical masterpiece. I've seen the screenshots and gameplay video's. It brings nothing new to the table graphics wise.
Seriously it's getting annoying seeing everyone on this site put kz2 on a pedestal. Most fps gamers in particular pc gamers with custom built rigs will tell you that kz2 looks just like another mediocre shooter with good graphics for a console.
It's probably because the the graphics unit in the ps3 (The RSX) is based off a 256mb 7800gt. Which will not be enough no matter how powerful the cell is to produce AA in next gen games.
the 360 equivalent, has been said to be around the same power as a x1800xt 512mb. Is also old tech.
In real world performance these two graphics units would probably be extremely close to each other. Both are based off what is now considered dinosaur technology by pc standards,...
I've never really wondered that. Sony's only bone to small developers was the PhyreEngine, a graphics engine made free. However far short of capcoms self made proprietary multi-platform porting engine.
Again, I wonder how much time and money went into this project put forth by capcom, that allowed this particular dev to make these comments.
I also find it strange that even after, Sony came out with the carrot on the stick engine that is phyreEngine. There are ST...
makes me wonder what exactly?
If small developers have created their own proprietary porting engine from the ground up?
What I do wonder is exactly how much time and effort went into building this engine as without it, his comments would have never been made...
"This may, however, have more to do with the flexibility of Resident Evil 5's engine than the nature of the platform. "With our proprietary engine, the MT Framework - it's an engine we specifically made for development on next-gen consoles - one of its particular strengths is ease of porting to different platforms.""
lol did no one catch this? What's with the lazy developer comments, not every developer has the funds and resources to create an engine from the ...
Baum, your talking about gpu's and cpu's. This article is centered mostly around the chipset market. It's another often overlooked market. It's a bold move by nvidia, Since they've lost a lot of ground with their fauly notebook chipset failure that lost them millions. I'm especially surprised that Apple went the nforce route, especially considering the same notebook chipset blunder.
I only see this as a way to help Nvidia keep a profit should their next GPU cards fail to take th...
I will agree with bladestars article.
lol welcome to pc gaming ten years ago...
I'd also like to know how this is news
"Digital Distribution will never make it"
Why hello there mr. http://store.steampowered.c... It's already taken a major foothold in the pc gaming side. I see no reason why it wouldn't in the console side. The argument is about hard drive space and download times right?
First off download speeds. This is entirely POSSIBLE should MS incorporate a system like steams, where pre-downloads are possibl...
lol 3000 dollar pc?
with that kind of money I could a pc that could play it on max, a 360, a ps3 AND a 36" hdtv to play it all on

Is a pixelated award enough to make most of you guys suddenly do an about face and embrace gamespot with open arms? I'm suddenly beginning to understand why mediocre shooters sell so well on consoles. (not a knock on metal gear as I love the franchise myself I just don't consider it a shoo...
