you don't need a 2000 dollar pc to run crysis on high I beat the game on high @ 1280x1024 on my $650 setup. I can piece it together and show you show screens if anyone wants. Even though I've already listed my setup by part and cost before on an article similar to this.
that's almost like admitting you can't handle online games. l4d isn't a singleplayer game. hence the "Left >4< Dead" and the "Bring Friends" we saw in the tv spots.

this guy gets it. KZ2 fans seem to be ecstatic that it's being compared to crysis. What they seem to forget is that the cryengine 2 tech is years old.
I guess all in all crytek was right when they said the cryengine 2 is futureproof. To be the undisputed champ in graphics years later with a fraction of what Guerilla had to work with shows the unrivaled talent of Cryteks developers.
if your looking for competitive online games, counterstrike is king in that department. no other shooter compares when your talking cash prizes, global tournaments, and paid salaries to pro cs players. They tried Halo once at a cpl tournament (might have been a cgl) and it failed terribly.
So your telling me that I've never played crysis on high on my $650 pc.

at that resolution your looking at shooting yourself in the foot.
Most pc gamers that have high end rigs play at high resolutions. always pushing their hardware to "just playable"
If your asking those players to drop to that resolution. Their going to take advantage of all the available frames per second, throw them onto anti-aliasing and completely destroy kz2 in comparisons.

Indeed, considering the cryengine 2 was developed several years ago at a fraction of KZ2's time and cost. I guess that would put the console years behind the pc lol
I just installed 7 beta today and it uses about 400-500mb of ram with aero on. On vista I was using around 800mb of ram with aero on. not too shabby for a freakin beta. That's pretty damn close to how much ram xp uses.
there were tests run on zdnet and the tester showed it ran faster than vista and xp. However when his tests were ran he was still under NDA. so his scoring method is not conventional.
I'm using the windows 7 beta also and don't have any complaints about it. I did manage to check memory resources. with vista ultimate aero enabled my pc was using between 700-800mb of physical ram. on the desktop
I'm using 7 with aero enabled and it's only using between 400-500 of phys...
didn't microsoft patent a key on the keyboard. forgot what it was space or the page up/down keys i think.
And as far as this article goes. you can take a break on l4d and the computer will take over. 75% of the time they're better than the human players anyway...

cod4 has a nuke exploding using real time cutscenes. But thats not what I'm getting at you dolt.
This video is showing you nuke physics WITHOUT cutscenes. ITS ENTIRELY IN GAME. Meaning no two blasts will ever be the same.
That jungle shot is a 2005 tech demo screenshot shown at CES or E3. one or the other. These comparisons are skewed but in actuality that 2005 pic still looks better than the kz2 comparison if that says anything about how far behind the consoles are.
