The list says it's for "early 2010." If we go by the releases we've already seen from those franchises, Metroid will drop in the summer, and Galaxy will be a holiday title.
As for the list...I'm really interested in Red Steel 2, but there's no way I'd rank it above No More Heroes 2.
Why? Because the original RS sucked and the original NMH rocked. RS2 is more of a series reboot, while NMH2 is just improving upon an already proven formula.
Roper -- I don't think you'll find any arguments from a warranty standpoint.
It's just that this was a standard online system update, and apparently it targets hackers and effs up the console. I'm not going to feel too sorry for hackers (as I have taken too many one-shot kills to the leg from online cheaters in Conduit), but disguising something as a standard update while it bricks a console seems pretty dishonest.
Hot rodding a car may void the warranty, but the ma...
mastiff -- You must be psychic...'cause I'm a Zelda lover, and after doing some recent research into this game, I'm REALLY interested in it. I'll wait for some reviews, but I'm definitely considering it as a late Christmas gift...to me, of course.
Okami is the most underappreciated game EVER.
Count the number of games that try to do what Zelda does. Then count how many actually top Zelda. If you're counting on your fingers, you should have one digit remaining to represent Okami.
Its visuals have not aged at all. The celestial brush works MUCH better with the Wii remote. It's still jam packed with more hours of gameplay than most releases.
Yet it still hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves....
Yeah...I'm still worried that Ubi could find a way to screw this up.
But the boast on "waggle" isn't much of a boast, IMO, because Nintendo has already fixed this. The sword fighting in WSR was anything but waggle.
You may not have liked Galaxy, but that's personal preference. A crap game is one that is barely playable. I'm not a huge RTS fan, but I wouldn't call the games "crap" because they aren't up my alley.
Sorry, but something like Muramasa or PunchOut or WoG aren't "tacked on." You may not dig 'em, but that's what the variety is there for. I listed 35 games in quite a few genres...I wouldn't say that Wii is hurting for titles.
But that's JMO.
If you're tired of Mario games, don't play 'em.
And look at your list -- how many are dedicated Mario games like SMG? Party, Kart, Smash Bros., the Olympic/Sonic games, Sluggers, Strikers, Hoops...these aren't dedicated Mario platformers (he's basically one of a few mascots that appears). Subtract them and ports to handhelds, and you have a lot less games.
The Trilogy compilation has gotten the weirdest reviews of any game I can remember.
A good chuck of reviewers have rated this LOWER than Corruption alone, Fragland included (they gave it an 89):

You add two AAA titles with significantly better updated controls, widescreen and a collector's case...and the score goes DOWN? Makes no sense...
Yeah, I thought it would be pushed back a little longer.
Not that I'm complaining. NMH2, RS2 and MH3 are a pretty formidable start to the year.
The $25 gift card, putting Wii at $175 through Amazon, is a good deal.
spektical -- Zelda, Galaxy, Brawl, Metroid, PunchOut, two Excite racers, Fire Emblem, Battalion Wars 2, Kart, Paper Mario, Warioland...and that's just first party stuff.
Pitch in No More Heroes, Muramasa, TW10, World of Goo, Extraction, HotD: Overkill, MadWorld, Conduit, both Pro Evo's, Little King's Story and Zack & Wicki.
(And more great first party titles on the way: motion+Zel...
Galaxy 2, Other M, Red Steel 2, No More Heroes 2, Grinder, Sin and Punishment 2, Monster Hunter Tri...yeah, 2010 is gonna be STACKED on Wii.
For some games, yes.
For other games, no.
It's that simple. Motion controls work great in some games, and not great in others. I prefer playing Madden with a regular dual analog controller. I prefer FPS with IR/pointer controls.
A select few devs know how to mix the controls perfectly -- No More Heroes come to mind (mostly button presses, but motion controls for finishers and to toggle your stance for attacks).
I'm with Schnazzy...I want to see what Suda and co. have done with the open world. They've kept very tight lipped on it. And I haven't see any gameplay videos of it, either.
Still, this game looks positively packed with win. The 8-bit mini games are perfect fill-ins for the odd jobs in the first game. And Shinobu looks like quite the badass. Suda said that NMH2 is probably the end of Travis's story, so maybe she'll be featured in NHM3?
I'll rent first.
It's been getting some good scores, but Gamepro's scores are as screwy as GI's usually (remember the Conduit review when the guy was too lazy to re-map the grenade throw?).
Gotta love that some real effort looks to have been put into this game. I won't lie, I still wish they would've gone third-person like Shattered Memories, but a great game is a great game.
The action/combat seems almost quasi-Zelda...and that's a very good thing. I have no idea how they came up with that release date, but I might have to check it out.
I wasn't too hyped about this game before, but the more previews I read about it, the more I want to check it out.
"The veteran Tanabe was the one who hinted at the future of Metroid Prime — a series that seemed to have concluded with the release of 2007's Corruption. Responding to a Kotaku question about whether the Metroid series has the potential for multiplayer popularity equal to GoldenEye's or Halo's, Tanabe said, 'As all I take part in is the Prime series, I am not capable of commenting on the whole Metroid series. But we will keep considering multiplayer for the Prime series. For instance, I ...
In this interview from G4, it sounds like NMH3 is pretty much a lock:

Can't wait for NMH2.
My favorite new IP this gen.
The 2D mini games are a great idea. I just hope they fix the open world aspect of the game.
I'm with oobob.
I play my Wii plenty. There's a great 2D renaissance on it -- Muramasa, World of Goo, Warioland, MegaMan 9, Paper Mario (well, parts of it). If you dig rail shooters, you get the best of this gen.
And for FPS, I simply can't go back to dual analog. After I played Prime 3, there was no turning back. I love the "hardcore gamers" who can't admit that dual analog is an INFERIOR control setup for FPS. A mouse and keyboard has always been bet...
