Save for voice chat and an extra few players, COD4 is completely intact: 13 modes and a ridonkulous number of (big) maps.

No disagrees from me. You're not trolling, and being honest without being insulting. Bubbles for you.

I will disagree a bit on graphics; graphics do matter to an extent, but it's just that no third parties seem interested in really pushing the Wii. I thought Corruption looked AMAZING, even compared to PS3/360 games. But no one has really one-upped it. Developers are porting down instead of building from the ground up, so they're not optimizing what the Wii is capable of.

I don't think you'll regret it. It has really grown on me. Multiplayer challenges/leveling up is addictive.

I was playing online with oobob last night, and he pretty much pwned me. :D

Mastiff -- Y'know I hadn't really thought of that. After playing WSR, it finally hit me that there's probably no way around first-person combat for the next Zelda.

And you're absolutely right...if you're going first person, who better to help out than Retro?

It's probably just wishful thinking...but damn, I would LOVE to see what the folks down in Austin could do with Link.

Just imagine the reaction at E3. The stage goes dark, the video starts, the cre...

Smack -- Man, I loved LoZ:TP. I thought it had the best story since Majora's Mask. Good visuals, huge world, and Midna actually made for a good sidekick. If that's the series' low point...I'll take it!

Dude, you're talking sense. That's not allowed.

"Monster Hunter Tri itself was underwhelming considering the Wii Japanese install base if you put it against the numbers of the PSP versions."

A more accurate comparison would be to compare console titles. Look at how well Monster Hunter sold on PS2 -- with a larger install base. To my knowledge, Tri has outsold each respective outing the franchise had on PS2, and it hasn't even been released in America yet.

[The install base talking point only goes so fa...

So, 1:1 sword fighting...that isn't going to work in third-person, is it?

I imagine the exploration has to be third person in Zelda...but the combat sounds like it's going to be VERY different, and I'm down with that.

Please, Nintendo...holiday 2010. Don't make us wait 'til 2011.

It's a hell of a port when you consider that no one thought COD4 could even run on the Wii.

I've been playing it online, and there's a pretty impressive community of people. W@W sold over a million copies, and if this one doesn't, something is wrong with folks.

Pretty much my feelings exactly, especially on the graphics. No, the game doesn't -- and couldn't -- look as good as the other versions. But Treyarch did an admirable job, and the game looks surprisingly good in motion. That said, the overall score might be a little high, IMO.

Don't understand this, though:

"Given that, online is more of a novelty in this version than any other, but at least a quick Free-For-All game can stratch that itch to go shooting after...

"Positives:
- 3 epic games on 1 disc (no Pikmin-style rip-offs here)
- Smooth controls
- Badge achievement available for all three games
- Excellent presentation
- Potentially 100 hours of game play
- A must have for Wii owners
- Toned down difficulty
- Samus > Master Chief"

They'll have to tread lightly to avoid looking like a me-too Modern Warfare. I'd definitely like to see some screens and vids to see where they're going, though.

I saw this first through metacritic. Question...how does a B+ translate to an 83?

Anywho, I appreciate that this reviewer was actually even handed on the controls. I'll never understand the preference for dual analog, but that's just me. At least this reviewer gave a reason -- experience.

mrnintendo96 -- What I don't get are how developers are so alienated. The Wii is easier and cheaper to develop for. I mean, it's just souped up, last-gen tech.

Just look at Capcom. They released a legendary version of RE for the Gamecube, but insist on giving Wii owners rail shooters.

When Ubisoft gets a great game like NMH, they do nothing to market it (I'm tired of hearing people say it's all the hardware developer's responsibility to market games; publishers ...

Have you actually played Conduit? Along with MWR, it's as close as you can get a console shooter to keyboard/mouse levels of speed and precision. It sold about 300,000 copies, turning a profit for HVS (a small developer who made the game with a small budget). Not all games can sell like Halo.
(And COD has done pretty well on Wii. W@W sold over a million copies.)

With GTA:CW, last I checked, it was closing in on 750,000 copies. Not a super blockbuster, but not a failure...

I only had framedrops in the last half of the game's single player. Online, none. It's amazing how well it runs in multiplayer.

Voice chat is a buzz kill, but honestly, I can do without the homophobes and sophomoric taunting, too.

Some people complain about the controls (GI's review is ridiculous, but most of theirs are at this point), but graphics seem to be the biggest complaint.

I own the game, and I know the Wii can do better in shooters -- Corruption and Conduit come to mind. But those are ground-up games (ports from more powerful hardware will always look worse), and neither of them have nearly as much going on combat-wise as COD4.

If I wasn't able to snipe because of blocky graphics, t...

I've had zero framerate issues online, and only a few dips in the single player. Maybe they went straight to veteran.

I'm not gonna give you a disagree or anything...but I can't say I agree with you. Yeah, Mario gets spammed all over the mascot games. But dedicated console Super Mario platformers?

Super Mario 1-3, SMW, Mario 64, Sunshine, Galaxy and NSMB.

That's it. 8 games in 24 years.

Console versions of Zelda and Metroid are even rarer.

Yet no one bats an eye at how many GTA, Halo, COD, MOH, Madden, etc. games we get.
