If all they really want to be is a service, there is no reason they can’t offer their own games for free day one on GamePass and then sell them for full price on PlayStation and Switch. I actually thought that this was their plan all along.
Xbox players have the benefit of not paying for their games and Microsoft still gets the money from the superior platforms. Seems like a win-win to me.
I don’t think it’s the cartoony quality of the trailer that upset people, it was the tone the trailer set. The trailer, from the design of the characters to the style of fonts it employed, looked cheap. If I didn’t know it was Dragon Age, I would have immediately thought live service mobile game.
Xbox showcases are always impressive though. Half of these games have been at showcases since 2019: Fable, Avowed, Stalker 2, Perfect Dark, and the Dragon Age formally known as Dreadwolf all have.
With that being said though, Sony needs to do better. This is what happens when there isn’t any real competition.
Wow, both options sound terrible.
Nothing on this earth is more cringeworthy than people complaining about the appearance of a 19 year old sexual assault victim in a remake of a two decade old video game.
Why are we talking about this at all? Focus on the real issue here. There has to be a better way to render James’ hair.
Calling Ubisoft a leader in open world gaming at any point in time would be like calling Dollar General a leader in retail.
I don’t own an Xbox and I have no real interest in HiFi Rush. I just hate to see a talented group of people lose their jobs when they did everything that was asked of them. You know… the decent, normal reaction to have when something like this happens.
Coming from Andrew Wilson, an AI designed to behave like a tech bro, this sounds like nepotism.
What are smoking? Got to layoff your way to those bonuses. Fire 500 employees right before Christmas. That should get you there.

Tipping is a wonderful thing to do, but an executive is the last person who should suggest it for an industry. This is just shady.
*Microsoft
I love all the souls games but Bloodborne and Sekiro are on a different level.
Lightning LOL
This pretty much confirms what I have feared all along. With Game Pass, Microsoft is forcing Sony to play by its rules. It looks like Sony has taken the poison pill.
Hopefully this unsustainable subscription model forces Sony to pivot back to Single player. Until then, let’s hope a few more Larians pop up to actually capitalize on making good single player games in place of the big publishers.
If by “charm” you mean immersion breaking jank, then I suppose you’re right.
We need to stop apologizing for Bethesda’s poor quality control. It was barely excusable when Fallout 3 came out and it’s down right pathetic now.
Let Obsidian make a Fallout game with a modern engine. It will be a better product than anything running on Bethesda's engine.
If you’re worried about Unreal 5 not being able to remember where you drop every lit...
Nope
A lot of Activision revenue happens on Sony consoles though. The post-merger Activision will have to find a way to make its money on one the least popular platform in history.
"Deep Cleavage"
So I guess we make it to the Northern Crater in Game 2 after all.
Now that Kotick is gone this is the scumbag everyone should focus on. Andrew “loot box” Wilson is pure cancer for the industry.
