It can actually do 1080p on HDMI (I have it set to 1080p) as well as component if your HDTV has the DRM rights to accept a 1080p signal over component.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
You can get native 1080p on DVD depending on the codec but the best capable bit rate quality is no where near Blu Ray, HD DVD, etc capable rates.
SasanovaS1987: For DVD it depends on the codec, WMV HD DVD for instance can display 1080p but the max bit rate is only 13 mbps or so compared to Blu Ray and HD DVD which are capable of bit rates near 50 mbps.
The bit rates you get with WMV HD DVD are still superior to digital downloads though, unless you count Vudu HD or what ever it is which has rates near 20mbps. I believe DivX also has an HD codec but I'm not very familiar with it.

Bushnell, what a life! How different we would all be without Atari and Chuck E Cheese, great interview.
You think Sony invented the console memory card?
http://www.neogeoprotos.com...
The SEGA Saturn also had a memory card, I don't know when it was released though but given the console life span it had to be in development around or before launch.
And the Xbox was in development alongside the PS2, I highly doubt either company knew much about what the other company...
Still have to try the demo but if the shaky cam gets bad I'll have to try that out.
Company of Heroes, Red Faction, Dawn of War, etc say hi.
Do you honestly think people like Molyneux contact gaming websites for one line quotes to post on the front page? Developers usually talk about their games in interviews, while demoing games, etc and sites pick apart what was said.
The full quote is better than what this site posted,
So first of all, how is work on Fable III coming along?
Peter Molyneux: It's very, very tough. Again - Fable, because it is part-simulation, part-rol...
Zune, Xbox, iPod, Macbook, etc do count as hardware even if the factories that make them aren't owned by Apple.
Very few tech companies actually build all their tech internally, they outsource it and often strike deals with other companies in their fields for parts.
Haven't played World of Warcraft in a while but when I used to play there were quite a few lower level players in most towns. I haven't played the game in a while so it's hard for me to give an accurate comparison to today's standards.
Probably a mistake by the author, even when you clicked the linked posts some say America while others North America. NPD Group doesn't cover North America for consoles sales, only US retailers are tracked excluding places like Walmart.
Great numbers all around excluding the PSP, I love my PSP and all but those numbers should be higher given what the PSP offers.
NPD are the least of the fan war worries, there are plenty of sites looking for hits who are the bigger problem.
Not sure what this has to do with anything but reading helps, from the first sentence,
"Anywhere between an estimated 600,000 and 1 million players"
Notice the "estimated" part?
Edit:
Sorry, I still don't understand what linking to two speculatory articles has anything to do with software sales.
These aren't North American numbers, simply America since NPD doesn't cover Canada.
The 360 can do 1080p, there are a few 1080p native games already out for the Xbox 360 and PS3 (Virtua Tennis 3, Sacred 2, NBA Street Homecourt, etc), both can also do 1080p as a native rendering resolution.
http://www.gamasutra.com/ph...
True 1080p is possible on all versions of HDMI, it was kind of the big selling point for it back in the day since Component has restrictions on 1080p,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Both the PS3 and 360 have their share of true 1080p games as well.
Il-2 was reviewed pretty well, in the 80s on MetaCritic IIRC, not sure about H.A.W.X. but some publications did give it some good reviews. Also note the "IMO" at the end of my post.
Out of curiosity Godmars, have you played any of those games? The demos at the very least?
I can't be the only one surprised that the game has scored this well, it didn't look to great from the little I saw of it before hand.
That's actually a preview, reviews might come closer to November.
