When I buy Gold for Xbox Live the main factor is access to online play, since PSN already offers that for free it would basically be down to game offerings for me and I'm sure many others are in a similar boat.
ODST wasn't supposed to be DLC but a $40 standalone expansion pack, I think Microsoft should have done the same with Crackdown 2.
To be fair, most BioWare games have traditionally been on two platforms (PC and a console). Dragon Age is the first franchise (in a very long time at least) that was on three consoles deep into the console cycle.
Then you must not buy a lot of goods since very few tech companies have a spotless employee record, it's not that common with developers but publishers might have it a bit more.
And it's not "abuse" but more so just to do with royalties, if abuse was the case they could complain to the California Labor Board who would give Activision an ultimatum to fix things or they are forcibly shut down until they can fix things. Interplay was shut down over the inability ...
It actually came out on the same day in North America, American sales numbers specifically are being used to fuel these articles so we'll go with that.
Heavy Rain came out on the 23rd and 24th of February in North America and Europe respectively, BioShock 2 came out on the 9th worldwide, Aliens vs. Predator on the 16th and 19th, and Dante's Inferno came out on the 5th and 9th.
There was still room, Alan Wake on the other hand released on the same ...
Have you even played the game? You have far more weapons at your disposal than just a flashlight. Flares, guns, and even environmental obstacles.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey was published by 505 IIRC and that was a great game, it reviewed really well too.
He also brought us Fight Night Round 3 which is one of the best boxing games created.
And he wasn't fired, all of EA Chicago (which he worked at before Microsoft) was let go and the studio shut down for cost cutting reasons by EA IIRC.
He actually suffers from a condition where his eyes are sensitive to light,
On topic: I see where Kudo is coming from what I still like rumble, it adds to the experience in a way I really can't describe very well. =/
Agreed, especially when going by MetaCritic ratings, if you honestly start with games in the 60s and claim they are the worst ever...
It's really on a case by case basis, some games have moments where such conditions become more apparent and frustrating while others may not or do so to a lesser degree.
And you really aren't helping the games case much by saying things like "I guess the check bounced".
The episodes are only if you want to buy the game digitally, you get the first episode for free and if you want the rest of the game you just buy it, kind of like a demo 2.0. If you don't want to do that, you can just buy the full game on a disc at any store.
For Alan Wake, the arch that was started in the game was finished, the DLC episodes are just expanding on it. Alan Wake was always intended to be told through other medias, sequels, etc like all Remedy games since ...
ClownBelt: A better way to put it is that the advertising was limited, you could have ads like that in downtown Toronto but what about the folks outside of the city, in Edmonton, Vancouver, etc? They wouldn't see them and I'm sure Microsoft didn't have the billboard campaign in all major Canadian cities either.
Online advertising is ok but a lot of the marketing was directed to gaming sites which in my opinion is a waste since most of the people who visit gaming...
I didn't ask him to prove it was a trilogy nor did I deny there was one and anyone would realize Dyack and Silicon Knights had the ambitions or are we all forgetting the Neogaf and 1UP incidents?
If key Japanese franchises like Monster Hunter don't manage to stay in the top after a while, what good would creating new untested studios and ips do for Japan?
The 360 generally sees a good boost when there is a good exclusive so if Microsoft is able to find a balance between the two it could help somewhat.
Just because they didn't release anything since 2003 doesn't mean they've been developing the game for the entire time. Studios have gone years without releasing products, anything could happen during that time, prototypes we never see, engine creation, outsourced work for universities, businesses, etc.
And the part where it says Microsoft had "HUGE ambitions" for the franchise is, where?
Trilogy does not always mean "HUGE ambitions", Dyack and Silicon Knights had very high ambitions for the game given how much they were hyping it.
Microsoft didn't have any ambition for a trilogy, the hype was mostly if not all Silicon Knights and Dyack.
Poor research on the part of the author,
I feel kinda sorry for the developers, they're usually doing ports or licensed IP's, when ever they do something original it's either mediocre or bad.
Alan Wake had the date first months in advance, keep in mind that Red Dead Redemption was delayed maybe three or four times before they settled on May 18, it would have been gamble either way since there was no guarantee that Red Dead would actually meet the deadline until you were on the verge of release.
Now, Microsoft did move the release date up in Europe by a week which seems to have helped in sales their.
