Ah, actually yeah. I think you're right.
I think we are ready for screens in controllers since I have a console sitting under my TV that has just that. This is the one thing I hope Sony copies from Nintendo.
The GamePad gets a lot of hate from people who haven't tried it outside of a kiosk. It's truly awesome and if my PS4 has one I will be very happy.
In the Xbox's defense, the 12gb slim PS3 is going for £120~£200 in the UK which is almost $180~$315.
Edit: On amazon.co.uk it's going for £172.19 which equals $272.
But I just remembered Xbox uses proprietary hard drives, so that would raise the price a lot.
If the Wii U was simply a stop gap, it would have been released two years ago.
The Wii U is next gen because otherwise it'd be a pain in the a** to talk about the three next gen consoles together.
@Knushwood Butt
I don't know if it's actually true or not, but it kind of makes sense. Capcom probably figured, rightly, that people would buy Monster Hunter even if it didn't have fancy new graphics. Lost Planet was a new franchise and they needed to put something on the HD systems. Maybe if they didn't do Lost Planet at all, they would have just put MH on 360 and PS3.
But yeah, that's all guessing. The main reason I don't think Ninte...
He, uh, can't. Bubbles and all that. (It's best not to talk about it. Just don't make eye contact and keep walking.)
@theBAWSE
If Gaikai works well, then fantastic. That would solve that problem. But as of now we don't know how that will work, or what games will be supported. Would I have to pay to play games I already own? What about my saves? And of course some people just don't have a fast enough connection to play streamed HD games.
Gaikai is absolutely better than no backwards compatibility at all, but you have to agree hardware BC is the simplest option with l...
@Yi-Long
I'm betting the Xbox will have backwards compatibility unless MS purposefully doesn't include it. Without a Cell processor the PS4 can't have BC. Maybe the Cell has gotten so cheap to produce that they'll throw one in, kind of like how the original PS3 had PS2 hardware built in for BC. If that's the case, I'd buy a PS4 early before they stop including it.
Was the snes more powerful? Sega had that Blast Processing thing. Whatever the heck that was.
I concur. A good game is a good game regardless of console.
I think it would have to. It's still a Smash Bros. Game. Nobody would buy it if it didn't have the traditional gameplay too.
To all those who skipped reading the article: It's actually really interesting. I didn't know... well pretty much everything the author wrote about the behind the scenes of SSB. I wasn't really looking forward to this game until this article. Now I hope the author is right and the game comes out this year.
Wouldn't Lego City be Nintendo's GTA? You know, since it's like GTA but exclusive to Nintendo?
The names these spammers use are getting weirder and weirder. No offense to anyone named Bryce or Chad.
I just hope the sequel won't (only) be on tablets and phones. I needs me some buttons.
At least he realized the Wii U wasn't just an add on for the Wii I guess. It's so easy to forget how little the non-hardcore gamers know about games.
I played this game when I was a kid. One thing I do remember, which the article mentions, is the music. There's one part where there's a rock band playing a show and I remember really digging that song :).
"GTA 5 came out years ago"... Is that metaphorical or something? It's still in development...
I'm not sure if it is upscaled. According to the video they actually render it at a higher resolution. Of course this doesn't make the textures higher, but it does make everything sharp and jaggy-free.
"The only complaints thus far have been the framerate, which critics and players have said doesn't really affect the gameplay, and Dante's hair. Given that so called fans were complaining about Dante's hair long before release, I'm inclined to believe it has more to do with that than any technical issues..."
