It's interesting that this opinion piece says that the other day's Nintendo Direct made this guy do a 180° and decide he wants a Wii U, but Tom Mc Shea's opinion piece over on gamespot said that not only was no one excited about Nintendo's coming games but that it would NOT cause people to want to buy a Wii U. So, who's right? The out of touch editor or the guy who decided to buy a Wii U?
In the comments on the article itself, someone named augmira said this:
"I've already posted here but after a little reflection time I think I can better articulate to those who agree with Tom's opinion why it comes across to so many others as an affront, and I think it has to do with the style and dress of this type of journalism.
I truly enjoy IGN and check in ever day because I trust their reviews and news updates. Their editorial pieces are a...
No problem :)
I wouldn't mind a remastered Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword (no rush on SS), but OOT would need a serious overhaul. Plus we just got it on the 3DS. I'd rather Nintendo put their remaking efforts into a 3DS Majora's Mask.
Or you could buy a PS4 instead.
Here you are, sir!

I have a feeling Mr. Tom Mc Shea has an ADD problem. He couldn't concentrate on the Nintendo Direct enough to hear Iwata say it was for first party games, and he couldn't concentrate on the directions in Skyward Sword on how to use the motion controls properly (ie, it doesn't use the sensor bar so stop pointing your remote at the sensor bar like an idiot). I don't follow gamespot so I'm not too familiar with this guy's work besides those two articles, but in both he mi...
These people are too talented. They must be stopped.
Great article. I like the Nintendo Directs too. They speak right to the fans. None of that PR press release bs.
Well it makes sense because the wii u has two screens something something capcom sucks.
lol
I hope PS4 can do BC.
"why did you insult me ?!"
lol, that really made me laugh for some reason ^_^. But yeah, Ni No Kuni and Last of Us, good times to be living in.
I'm also very much looking forward to this. I've been thinking about playing this game again and this HD remake is coming out at the perfect time.
I wouldn't hold my breath for 1080p though. I'm sure the Wii U could handle a 1080p Wind Waker, but with all the lighting and graphical touchups they're doing, I expect 720p. Honestly I find that a bit disappointing after watching 1080p emulated versions on youtube like this:

Haha, Tingle, I hope not :).
Bayonetta seems like a no brainer but the man Sakurai does what he wants. I have no idea what characters will be in the next SSB but I know Sakurai said he wants to use some now defunct franchises, like he did with Pit of Kid Icarus fame when the last game came out.
I gotta admit, it gets pretty frustrating on n4g sometimes. You read an interesting article, go to the comments to see if anyone has any thoughtful opinions, and all you get is "the headline sucks and you suck."
A couple weeks back there was an article about the possibilites of the Vita being used with the PS3 for GTA5. People just saw Vita+GTA5 in the headline and literally (literally!) the entire first page consisted of a hundred comments about GTA5 being release...
@Gemmol
More *revenue* than the Wii, not profit. The system costs more so more money comes in. The problem is it costs more for Nintendo too so more money goes out.
@lilbroRx
I believe Slapshot82 was talking in percentages not the actual number of copies. You have to admit the best selling game last year only being purchased by 5% of Wii U owners vs. NSMB Wii U which had almost a 100% attach rate doesn't look good for third parties.
You should probably read the article before you bash the author. It congratulates Nintendo on their good decisions in the face of developing HD games for the first time.
Great article as usual.
I disagree on your first PS about being upset about having to pay one dollar to add the Wii U features to VC games. If I had to pay full price for a game, then I'd be upset, but a dollar? If you ever get the craving for McDonald's, ignore that and use the money to upgrade 6 or 7 games.
After Windwaker only did so-so in sales, Nintendo gave us that grittier, realistic Zelda in Twilight Princess. I know a lot of people on n4g claim it was their favorite art style, but I think that's because they haven't seen it in awhile. I was checking out videos of 1080p emulated versions of all the three recent Zeldas. Windwaker and Skyward Sword look amazing but Twilight Princess looks soooooo booooooring, It's just brown everywhere. It is simply incredibly average. It certain...
Unreleased? Still in development? Unfinished? Pre-alpha? Listen it's hard to compare a released Ni No Kuni to a game that we have seen 20 seconds of. Wait until it's out then we'll decide.
