Pretty good month, I have been playing Dead Space, and Premium has been cooking recently.
They should run great on PS5 Pro!
(Not that i'm buying anything Microsoft makes.)
You guys can say whatever after the fact...
"Where were you for the E3 2020 reactions? The tech and graphics were railed against. The flat lighting and character models."
What I remember is people commenting about how the models and lighting were worse than previous games... So, it didn't have anything to do with the engine if prior games had better lighting and models. What I remember is that Phil was trying to rush the game out the door (...
I don't believe anything this guy says.
Wow.. you just denied all the things I said you guys deny... It's kinda funny how you confirmed what I just said...
Alternate reality...
It's funny how before yesterday I saw literally zero people ever complain about the games engine, today it's the cause of all the problems with Halo...
Xbox fans are delusional, Microsoft puts its games on PlayStation, xbox fans: it's not because games don't sell on xbox. Microsoft asks developers why they are skipping xbox, xbox fans: games aren't skipping xbox. Microsoft goes to court and says game pass needs 5x the subscribers to maintain itself xbox ...
I wouldn't put too much stock in the graphics in this...
Remember that 2019 Halo bullshots trailer they showed... Yeah... the actual game looked nothing at all like that. And Microsoft does that constantly, this is the company that constantly lies about games being showed on console when they are actually on high end PC.
The reality is that in 2024 Halo is pretty much dead, the studio is barely hanging on and Microsoft seems to be outsourcing most of the work. They just switched engines to make the game easier to outsource after all the leadership left and much of the staff was fired.
And I'd seriously hope regardless of what engine they use that in 2027+ or whenever the next game releases that they would be able to have better graphics than a 2007 game.
You're living in an alternate reality.
Games get announced every week that are skipping xbox.
If this wasn't true Microsoft wouldn't be reaching out to developers to ask why they are skipping the platform... duh...
Xbox fans refuse to believe that xbox is failing even when it's Microsoft themselves saying it...
Don't put words in my mouth.
I have told you before and I have said it since before I had any discussion with you on the topic.
So let me say it one last time and be perfectly clear.
I think UE5 is overhyped garbage, it has some good graphics but it's not doing anything that good custom development software used by other publishers can do and has already done. I would point out the fact that only recently has UE5 started to be ...
I don't want to argue with you, but I am just going to say that outside of frame gen the frame is rendered in 16.66ms, if it wasn't rendered in that it wouldn't be 60 fps. It' takes the frame then redraws and displays exact frame once.
Framegen which is inserting duplicate frames does feel like it has latency.
And when your talking about RDR again that is using a much older technique, Checkerboard is almost 10 year old technology, differ...
The cost to license software is higher than the cost of using in house software.
The complaints I see about recent Halo games was simply the writing, that's not a particularly labor intensive part of game creation. As others have pointed out the primary gain from this is making it easier to outsource the development by using a more standardized software.
Writers do not work on code for software.
You're misinformed, there is no latency, the AI still renders the frame in 16ms at 60 fps (note: frame gen explanation lower in reply). And the artifacts is such misinformation that I think comes from the improper way DF talks about upscaling. The fact of the matter is the amount of artifacts it removes like shimmer reduced jaggies and much much clearer textures far outweighs native. And a lot of what people see is because their only experience is with FSR and mostly FSR 1 (which is st...
Isolation is imo by far the best Aliens game ever made, I'd honestly like a remake with more modern assists.
Looking forward to this sequel.
Sony released two MLB: The Show games, Spider-Man 2, Concord and Astro Bot and a remaster of TLOU 2.
What did Microsoft release outside of Zenimax and Activision... Hellblade 2 in 24 and Forza Motorsport in 23.
Heck even with Zenimax and Activision did they release 5 games and a remaster?
And Sony published Helldivers 2, Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, Until Dawn Remake and Lego Horizon Adventures is coming out later this year.
PlayStation has a custom decompression chip for Kraken and Oodle, it's the hardware that is the important part. Xbox does not have this chip, it uses direct store which uses the GPU to so the decompression.
And Atmos is just a positional audio format, all it does it direct the sound to the speakers.
Tempest is like a audio card on a PC, it can do real time ray traced audio so a sound from around a corner sounds like it's bounced around a wall as ...
Microsoft has practically abandoned their own software which I personally feel is yet another terrible long term decision. Now they are fully reliant on Epic to provide them what they need to develop their games. And we are half way through this generation and they are just now rolling out the hardware implementation of Lumen, and have yet to complete and refine their texture and geometry engine.
And on top of this, the benefit of having in house software especially for ...
It's more like FSR---->PSSR->DLSS.
DLSS is better but it's not better by a large amount while PSSR is a lot better than FSR 3 is currently.
Previous games ---->USING THE SAME ENGINE<---- had better lighting, textures and features.
