Yeah, I suspected as much when they tried to claim that this small studio had spent 200m before Sony even bought them. There was no way a studio with no major games could have afforded or got financed 200m.

Dude, you factually don't understand the fundamental differences between the two. Atmos is a positional audio format made for cinema (like 7.1), Tempest is akin to a audio card in a PC.
Dolby Atmos can't do any type of audio manipulation, it just decodes audio and tells it which speaker to use. Tempest act...

Atmos is not even close to the same thing as Tempest. Atmos is a positional audio format Tempest is a chip in the console that can things like HRTF, ray traced audio and other forms of audio manipulation.
For example for Forza to have ray traced audio and Hellblade to have 3D audio they needed to use a software solution, not hardware like on PS5, and neither are nearly as advanced because each new source costs more resources which for all the talk of PS5 Pro's CPU you s...
Just because that's the announced end doesn't guarantee it will be coming to xbox at that point or ever to be honest.
And even if it does it'll be an inferior version without the haptics and the Tempest audio which I expect will be a huge part in setting the mood in a game like this.

That doesn't even make sense. Why would they ever purposely create a bug with their own firmware? Nothing about that helps sell any console, and the Pro hasn't even released yet.
Both Sony and Square have released statements saying they are working to resolve the issue.

To be fair 360 launched 1-2 years before PS3 depending on region and a third of those sales were probably RROD repurchases.
Microsoft's Tim Stuart, Sarah Bond and others have said they want to add x second of ads every x amount of time of game played. (I say x because they have said various times from every 30 minutes to 2 hours and various lengths of ads from 30 seconds to minutes)
Heck they already put ads in their games on Windows.
