They are probably pretty late in development to make any large sweeping changes. At the same time, there is nothing wrong with tweaking the balance post release.
Seriously? You don't see the link between what platforms and games sell and what platforms and games get subsequently made?
Aye. Bubbles.
PS3 fanboys... 360 fanboys... behold your enemy: casual gaming. All the snarky comments you throw at each other are nothing compared to how Wii has been walking all over you.
Now, get the f**k over yourselves and play f**king a game. If you don't have the other hardcore HD console, go get one. There is more than enough to warrant it in either situation. The 360 is much more reliable and the PS3 has plenty of games worth playing. The combined force...
I love to see PS3 fanboys throwing a hissy fit, claiming the media is broken or there is an MS conspiracy.
See... people distrust statistics because statistics can say quite a bit without a truckload of data, contrary to what most people think. If they have a wide collection of data across several retailers, they can look at the deviations and estimate what Wal-mart and Amazon would sell. And they can do that pretty accurately... and without bias, like most of us.
But for the hardcore fanboy who demands a decisive number that concludes without a doubt the ranking of the major player...
Certainly a pretty game. I might finish it some day.
I remember the King was hilarious.
Way to miss what I'm saying.
No, I don't want to wear shutter glasses either.
No, I'm not resisting something new... because there is nothing new here. I was playing Unreal Tournament 2004 with shutter glasses back in college. This ISN'T innovation. This is Sony's fine tradition of token "better-ness". It's a gimmick, same way Wii is a gimmick... same way Natal is a gimmick, same way the Balance Board, Guitar Hero, and Eye of Judgement is a gimmick. The...
I agree, but at the same time, I think Sony has so much more they should be focusing on. This is just another gimmick on the pile, and everyone knows it.
There is innovating, and then there is "innovating". You want the former.
The question is not whether or not people will be buying 3DHDTVs. It's whether or not people really want to wear 3D glasses. If you have naked-eye 3D method, please share with the class.
@Cyborg: So, what flavors does the Sony Kool-aid come in these days?
@raztad (below): And who's to say you wouldn't be raising the same concerns they are if Microsoft was the one doing this? Do you expect me to believe YOU are unbiased?
Jeez, enough with the conspiracy theories already.
Great.... another study the fanboys will quote as gospel.
As far as I'm concerned, the day Microsoft fails to fix my 360 is the day I become a PS3 gamer. They haven't wronged me yet... they replaced my box several times. They kept me happy, but they are always one bad decision from losing that.
morkendo: You are twisting reality to satisfy your bias.
I like what Sony is doing with their Facebook integration. It's less "this is facebook in a user friendly app" and more "this is console gaming meets facebook updates". I wish I could have both, but I would prefer to have facebook tell the world what I'm playing.
"It’s clear that the 360 lighting just isn’t as powerful as its PS3 equivalent"
???
Huh? That statement makes no sense. Lighting is more... powerful?
I agree that it's pointless to argue over which shots look "better". What is better when it comes to graphics? You can't pull out technical specs when the end result is subjectively judged.
That's right. If Sony has all this power, well, they should win automatically. It's a matter of principle that Sony wins even though games look better on 360. 360 is a system of lesser power and that disqualifies them from ever being better. Even worse... Microsoft made Xbox 360 which means we all have to go on crusades to destroy the Xbox brand. Death to infidels. </sarc>
Saiyan... 360 has had great games for a long time and it has great games coming. So has PS3. So has the third party.
It's just everyone is so caught up in whats better than what, they miss a whole sector of the released games, if only to prop up their needlessly biased opinions. It's such a waste of our time. But the fanboys insist on picking out scapegoats... if only to ridicule.
Honestly, if I had to say if "someone" were dominating my gametime, it wo...
Funny how the only site that "publishes" trash like this in my reader is N4G. Look at the horrible grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
But the PS3 fans take it as a pit-stained sweating gospel...
Yay, early morning fanboy swatting!
Anyone notice how PS3 Slim is "sold at a lost but still profitable", but no one wants to admit that's the way 360 works, too? It's funny how people like to assume that Microsoft is filled with idiots and the 360 "barely works"... and the PS3 can do no wrong. Barely works? That's quite a bit of spin.
Once again, people confuse framerate and fidelity. Honestly, I prefer framerate. I like it smooth, minimal tearing, and 60 frames per second minimum. After that, I want it to be in HD, at any level as long as it's 720p or higher. And after THAT, I want high-rez textures and mapping. (For example, Goldeneye 007 is an unplayable mess, since it chugs at like 15 FPS inconsistently.)
But we should not confuse framerate with photo realism. When you get down to it, the textures an...
