Good list, in that the author provides some flamebait for everyone.
Gears? Yeah, kinda overhyped. It had a lot of potential... and honestly met quite a bit of it. But Gears 2 just kinda sputtered off my radar.
Killzone? Definitely overhyped. Aside from the things the multiplayer did amazingly right, it got so many fundamental things wrong, like thinking people wanted "weighted" controls. And they didn't. Look a the mountain of complaints. They even ...
So, Sarcasm, if value is the single most important factor, please chew this piece of used gum. It's free.
Last time I check out my PS3 browser... I couldn't load facebook correctly. So, I'm not so sure PS3 "has" facebook, and this minor update to let your PS3 post on facebook doesn't count. And I honestly don't want to screw with the PS3 browser. It's clunky and not good for anything but a bulletpoint on the box.
I'm also not sure why I should care what this azn-thug wannabe says, especially when he's so willing to take the first-party graphics of the PS3 as "self-e...
What I've been waiting for is local-network save sharing. If you have a PS3 or 360, they should share saves freely with a second console in the local network. Over most networks, the cost of transferring one game save is minimal.
Where this would be REALLY nice is sharing Xbox Live accounts, instead of using the god awful memory units to move it around from box to box.
@PirateThom: I also like your idea, but why do we have to manually sync? Why can't we just have...
@imdaboss: Yes... controls were the number 1 complaint, so no, you can't just brush it off as a not-a-big-deal.
Jesus Christ! Enough with the witch hunt. Killzone 2 has come and gone. AND I LIKED THE DAMN GAME! The multiplayer structure was EXTREMELY innovative.
However, the controls were sloppy. That's a fact and no amount of denial... or fanatic religious faith... is going to make that mountain of complaints disappear.
The upgrade system, was... ...
Oh well... you'll have to forgive Microsoft for competing with Sony. What did you expect? Should everyone just give up and go home and let Sony have an unrivaled monopoly on hardcore gaming?
I'm sure I can find one of you morons who thinks that's a good thing...
@GodMars: There is always going to be a biased perspective on what you think the other side is doing. I used to see paid-PS3 shills around every corner. But now, with ClimateGate happening, I'm starting...
I really don't care if they compress the cutscenes and sound. I'm in it for the game. Regardless, I'll probably get it on PS3 as the lead platform.
@creatchee: Beyond the cutscenes, which, at 1080p eat up a TON of space, the gameplay should be pretty much identical.
*faceplam*
This is sad. They will let anyone post on N4G these days, even a clearly-biased, no-name site like Yahoo! Finance...</sarc>
BTW, I haven't heard of anyone's controller dying yet. Has anyone here had to replace one on account of battery failure?
1.9: You can't be serious. No... really... you can't honestly think there isn't someone stupid enough to write this. On the Internet. Stupid. Internet. See a pattern here? Surely, you of ...
This isn't the "latest gadget". This is... about 3 divorces worth of eye-rolling, woman-repelling tech-xcess.
Do you live in an auditorium?
I put a tape measure on the wall and realized a 55 inch is too damn big for my space. I'll just get the 46.
I'm in the market for a mid-high end TV to replace my current HDTV: a 1080p, 32 inch, LCD.... Polaroid. I'd like a panel with great dejudder processing, and I bet this would do it well.
But like hell it's worth $11,000. F**k that s**t.
I'll stick to the newer Samsung local-dimming LED's.
And why wasn't Sony the first to do this. It would seem natural.
Incredible how people are reacting. Players break the game, and all anyone can do is regurgitate apologetic rhetoric about how the players are expected to do these things. Then, people attack IW and Microsoft for protecting their game and services. Finally, people start DEFENDING the human wreckage that is obsessed with ruining the good time of honest players.
You can't possibly be serious. Did you take the most logical course of action and turn 180 degrees in the opposite di...
Let's be honest. MOST people are honest gamers. It's the loud minority that can, despite lesser numbers, still ruin the game for more people.
I know people think javelin and geo glitchers are the problem, but kill colluding (for the Tactical Nuke) is even worse, mostly because it relies on no glitches and operates within the stated rules of the game.
Funny how many people were going to buy this just because it was a PS3 exclusive. And now it's not, they won't.
That's some pretty hardcore, blind, religious faith there. Of course, the 360 dissenters that have now disappeared are just as guilty.
According to the logic that says they shouldn't be banned, "They bought the mic, they should be able to say anything into it they want."
I know. People can justify a lot of crap.
Again... they ARE patching it. Meanwhile, they have every right to protect their game from falling apart.
Let me re-restate it for you. IW is taking responsibility for fixing their game, just like every person opposed to the suspensions says they want. To me, sticking it to the less-than-ethical players is icing on the cake. You can go on with academic discussions about what is or isn't on the disk, discussions that will be moot shortly when a patch is required for online pla...
Incredible. If it isn't irrational Microsoft hate, it's irrational COD hate.
Two things: first, it's at least a 24 hour ban, but MN said it could be as big as a permaban. And second, the fix is on it's way. So, banning is a short term fix for an issue that is being permanently fixed quickly.
Both sides of this argument should be happy. The people who want IW to take responsibility... they are. The people who want immediate retribution against cheaters... they ar...
I'm totally taken in by Bayonetta. Above all, the demo was extremely satisfying, the sign of a game I can't wait to play when I get home from work.
I'll save you the trouble and just suggest the PS3 fanboys click disagree. Because that's your typical reaction to anything negative about Killzone 2, even if it came from someone who had a reasonably good time playing it. Still, I'm not going to laud and applaud a game that didn't deserve the massive amount of praise it's getting. Any realistic praise I could give it has already been drowned out several times over by the blind fanboy factor.
It was good. It wasn't OMG,thisis...
As Yahtzee once said, sometimes a game is popular because it's good. I know... novel idea.
In a related note, go play Culdcept Saga. It was my unsung hero of 2008.
