It hard to say which game will be "better". They are from two entirely different genres. As for which one will do better... you know it depends on how much advertising they get. Remember, the mainstream isn't as hardcore as you are.
I'll give it to Heavy Rain... but by a slimmer margin that most people here want to admit. You know who you are...
To say what is and isn't desirable in graphics... I think they merely look different. I think the Heavy Rain shots are a bit too liberal with visual depth-based blurring and the Alan Wake models lack the deep skin luminosity of Heavy Rain. In both, I am still acutely aware that I'm looking at a video game. That is certainly undesirable.
Honestly, I t...
Wow. And here I thought the 360 was the console known for "hidden costs".
@koehler83: Now three pieces...
The Open Zone is that way. It's for trolls mostly, but the blind are also welcome there.
Take a look at the other shots besides the c0ckpit shot. Identical.
Maybe someone should call the Troll Police. ...Oh, I see...
Dude. WAY off topic. I'm not even sure what you want to accomplish here.
Well, not entirely true. It's obvious what you are trying to accomplish. It's just so disingenuous and misguided, I don't know how you could possibly think it wise.
This is still an awful publicity stunt. Really. Awful.
If you don't want to hear it, mute them. Or turn voice communication to Friends Only.
If Zipper wants to stir up sht like this, I might be disinclined to keep my pre-order...
I don't think this author gets that the point of the PS3 was never to make money on the hardware.
I bought my most recent computer, pre-built, nearly a year ago. Of course, first thing I did was wipe it and install a clean OS. But I'd rather save the time/space/shipping cost and just shop around for a solid PC. With a solid 64-bit quad core, 6 gigs of ram, and a terabyte drive for under $1,500... I'm totally happy with it. It plays anything I could ask it to play these days.
But my last PC was built in anticipation of Unreal Tournament 04. It served me well, thanks to th...
I'm sure the next in the series will come easier. Very few games require a whole new engine for every game. Unreal Engine 3 still has code from the first Unreal game. And that's ancient by our standards.
You realize that accounts for most "long-running" franchises? They usually span multiple consoles...
On the contrary, I have every intent on playing a demo of Natal before shelling out for it. And it's funny how not I, the... ahem.... "die hard 360 MS mug", am not the one really pumped for it. That would be my wife, the die hard Wii Nintendo mug.
And don't call my wife a mug!
mfwahwah illustrates how to change the criteria for success when you don't like the results...
I see two classes of people here. One interested in the truth, the other interested in ridicule and... looking like fools by way of leaving their pants on the ground.
It's no surprise Arc is getting delayed. Remember when the PS3 was supposed to arrive in "Spring" and it was the end of spring before they admitted it would be delayed?
Sony may have missed the jump start chance, but now they have the opportunity to one-up Natal instead, same way they had a chance to one-up Xbox 360.
I bought Culdcept Saga based on it's demo.
I could probably find more games I DIDN'T buy because the demo was lame. A demo is a two-edged sword, and all too often, it cuts the wrong way.
Sure, darkride. But what about the mainstream wife or the girlfriend who won't be caught dead in 3D glasses, the person who is blind in one eye, the motion sick... the list goes on and on. These are people who have positively no interest in 3D at home. The price is too high for them.
People talk about a "hardcore death spiral", where games just get more and more hardcore and appeal to a smaller and smaller audience. Imagine every game was like Demon's Souls. Only a...
First, why does this have to devolve into a discussion about the alleged limitations of the 360.
Second, what do you mean "the new engine" for the 360? There are tons of engines that can run on the 360 hardware.
Third, Alan Wake is less of an open world game now. but how less is unknown.
From Wikipedia: "Remedy also promised a free-roam, sandbox-style city, similar to those seen in the Grand Theft Auto series. However in an interview wi...
