I agree, partially. There are some sites which explain every rating they give to each aspect of the game, then gives it the average. I know they're still numbers, and maybe 'random' as well, but at least is a way to break the shallowness of the super-absolute-monster-flame-m aster main rating and give some excerpt to the full review.
One thing I really like is a Pro/Cons resume, like Gamespot's, IGN's (kinda lame, but it's something) between others. ...
Maybe because Demon's Souls gameplay and mechanics were pretty unique and bold enough to fill a new game without being "the same old thing", while the old game formula from Gears (and 90% of the nowadays games - see I'm talking about the game design, not the game as final product) has to be reinvented to not fall as an EA-annual-edition kind of "sequel" "game".
So you can read "I did not enjoy Morrowind or Oblivion, at all." as well.
Sorry but I just can't rely on a RPG game review from someone who didn't enjoy any of these "at all".
Right, like they're going to kill their own 1-month-earlier-released Max Payne 3. Stop going bananas already..
I didn't know about it, at all. Read the article intro and got excited. Watched the 2008 video and got (less, but still) excited, seemed like it could be something innovative.
But then the second video shows the same gameplay I've seen on AAA titles (Infamous, Prototype, etc) but with a, who knows, good scenario and story (even though focusing on the 'FATHER' issue already tires my will).
I have nothing against downloadable titles (i.e. Si...
I'll play Dark Souls when I want to beat something and feel good about it, and play Skyrim to when I want to rest and feel good about it.
After three pessimist (at least for me and most Hitman fans I saw here) articles from previous weeks I must say this one changed my mind a little bit to a more positive side.
I felt a Hitman game on those words, even with some not needed changes and definitely not good streamlining, but well, what to do nowadays.
(Now, for the video, weird.)
Awww mye gowwd, I'm so frikking excited!! -- ©Sue
For me, this game have achieved one thing that I never felt about any other game: I feel like I'm going to the toughest [game] challenge I've ever had.
If you played Demon's and see something like "Dark Souls is harder than his predecessor, and still fun *as hell*" you should have feeling the same.
Just pre-ordered mine, I was waiting because right now I'm in trouble with money, but I just can't miss this, even more when they...
the good part is, we don't have to care about minyanville anymore. NEXT.
"FS/Namco are CLAIMING their game will be complete, but really, there's no way of ever knowing if that's true or not unless you personally were involved with the dev team."
I wish I were but I'm not. Still, I'm a developer and if you are too you must have at least the sight of what implies in delivering a 'complete' product to a huge public, and it'll be, for the huge majority, far away from the initial 'perfect' concept of it. ...
vickers500 I, overall, agree with you. I bought a lot of ['good type'] DLC already (R*'s - excluding LA Noire - for example, Borderlands, some others) and in an ideal concept that's the way how it should be done.
But DLC business put a 'too much of a gray area' on this, where [good or not] DLCs are a way to expand the game in a fair way or, like you and MeatAbstract already said, a way to 'profit comfortably'.
Since the su...
Why not? (It's really out of curiosity, since Dark Souls seems to bring almost every aspect from Demon's.. why yes to a 'maybe someday' - I suppose - Demon's 2 and not Dark Souls?) Really just want to know since I'm not an experienced Demon's player =]
1: "We won't release any DLC because our game is complete."
2: "Even so the maintenance is high and it's 'successor' is coming out we're extending the life of the servers so fans can play more and newcomers can discover it."
3: "If you pre-order it, you're getting the Limited Edition for the normal edition price.."
Now, I REALLY don't have a better example of a true reminiscent developer/publisher f...
Take the story depth from Gears and Barbie and you're in the same hell. Reality check.
@JokesOnYou Halo? now there's someone with a vast experience in games #not.
@Mgs4isOverrated compare this to the lazy and scared Microsoft ways to avoid DLC to any other platforms for X days. Now sum up how much stupidity there is in each case. Oh, wait, there's none on PSN, they just give the right to the publishers do what they want.
-__' did you read the article?
Thumbs up for this game, everyone I've shown it to became addicted so far =P they can't believe it's a REALLY GOOD game (since it doesn't require your 5870x2 to fry) until they start playing.
If you didn't yet, play it. Especially if you're tired of Zombie pointless killing games and even more yet if you think titles like Dead Island are just empty promises to a true zombiecalypse survival experience!
Very well said.
I have to agree.. after playing on PC @ High, Xbox without hires pack looks [like a] Low, sorry =/
EDIT: I mean only the textures, the rest I guess it's the same (apart from distance view etc etc)
