I'm pretty sure GRRM, as a fantasy author, would be a fan of or at least played table top-games of the 20th century. From that, it wouldn't be far-fetched that he'd have a passing interest in videogames and specifically fantasy-themed ones.

For old fans of Metroid, this is amazing news. Bigger than Metroid Prime 4. We all thought the mainline Metroid series was dead. Metroid Dread itself was confirmed to have had been in development before silently dying.

Looks like they're taking the SA-X Pursuer aspect of Metroid Fusion and making it a significant part of Metroid Dread.

XSS is surely better than a 4-year old rig?

Interesting that it's recommending GTX 1080 ti which is a 4 year old GPU. I suppose turning ray-tracing off, UE5 might be a pretty efficient engine. Although, recommended settings doesn't necessarily mean 60fps. GTX 1080ti is most likely gonna reach 30fps max on 4K.

I'm pretty sure Cortana in Halo 5 had the suit on. This was to signify how she'd changed from "assistant" to "authority."

If no BoTW2 or MP4 then throw away the switch.

Honestly, nothing looked really inspired. Maybe because the last 2 gens were so oversaturated with open world games, that the bar to do something revolutionary is too damn high. I mean, despite all its flaws, Red Dead 2 was far more innovative than this gameplay reveal.

There's also the issue with all Ubisoft games following a very similar formula. The major franchises; Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Far Cry, The Division are all becoming/became far too similar to ea...

Berserk inspired much of the Dark Souls' art direction and atmosphere. But making a souls-like game adaptation of Berserk wouldn't work. Even a Sekiro-like game wouldn't work. Funny enough, a Musou game is actually more closer to the source material than a souls-like game.

Capcom want to continue the FPS route started in RE7 but at the same time want to continue the success of the RE2 remake.

Which is why there are strong rumours that they're remaking RE4. A bit redundant if you ask me, but RE Village has a lot of RE4 vibes and it almost seems like it was made as a way to ease development for an RE4 remake.

I do hope that Resident Evil 9 will go back to its roots. RE2 was a great way to take the old formula and moderni...

Haven't played yet but I knew this would happen. One short demo and suddenly the internet loses their mind over her. Capcom never expected all this free marketing which obviously paid off very well for them in the end.

Once again, this teaches people a lesson of managed informed expectation. Capcom never said she was the main villain nor did they say she would feature prominently. Extreme hype leads to disappointment. Cyberpunk is a very good example of this.

Apparently the pandemic had a huge effect on FromSoftware's workflow and environment, more so than other studios - I heard they took very long to adapt and it set back a lot of development.

From these leaked internal trailers though, it seems likely we'll finally see something this year.

When I was kid, it was the era of SNES, N64, Dreamcast, PS1. Don't think any M-rated games would have been nearly as scary back then as today just because of the technological limitations.

Yeh I agree that was reckless. Kids can get a lot of serious trauma being exposed to scary and/or violent media. Especially kids who haven't reached teenagehood. BB can be a very scary and violently intense game. I still remember the chilling experience of Upper Cathedral Ward. Can't imagine that location being in any way suitable for a kid to experience.

Lol, that's probably the worst comparison ever. Musk is pretty much a pioneer in his domain. Kotick is in the business of looting his company until the end.

Do Rogue-likes not usually have save and quit option? IGN said the runs in Returnal are too long and can last multiple hours.

To lose all progress after a couple of hours of gameplay would probably make anyone ragequit playing the game at all. I'mg guessing runs in Rogue-likes are either less punishing or just much shorter?

Yeh FromSoft seem to be going back to tradition after Sekiro (which I loved) but adding in some new features such as horse riding and more open-world level designs.

Considering the leaked trailers, hopefully 2021 is the year of Elden Ring.

Those models look incredible. Highly anticipating this. Stalker shadow of chernobyl was the most immersive shooter I played since the Thief games.
