Yeh, honestly, the fact we haven't seen anything of campaign since 2020 and it's only a few months away from release makes me think Infinite's campaign isn't going to be that great. It seems what we've seen of MP so far is very promising.

At the very least, if campaign gets mediocre review, then we don't need to buy it, as MP has been confirmed to be free on launch.

This is a pre-beta version of the game. I'd give 343 the benefit of doubt and assume that they haven't finetuned controller aim assist. There are many details involved including adjusting aim assist for all thumbstick sensitivity configurations. The guy in the clip confirmed he was using custom settings.

What Inverno said. The article isn't about political correctness.

Lol, read the piece first.

Sure they can do what they want on it. But it's not right to cry foul when people point out inauthenticity.

Best response is to just say, "well this is our own spin on the mythology" and leave it at that. But to accuse those of making those points of something evil is well... not cool. It also really take a big dump on the real issues of racism in our society and trivialises it. There was a time in America where buses and schools were segregated based on race....

Jesus' portrayal as Caucasian is an old trope that existed long before any of us here on N4G. It's entirely inaccurate and if people are offended by this notion then that's their problem. There is no historically accurate representation of Jesus but if we were going to take a more reliable guess then he'd more likely resemble a Jewish Middle Easterner than a pale skinned European.

But many productions lately have portrayed Jesus' race more accurately tho...

The issue isn't about "okay" or "not okay" in a moralistic sense. It's about authenticity. The moral side of things is due to the current obsession of diversity for diversity's sake.

It's sad how the state of things have become. There was a real genuine cry for more diversity in the workplace many years ago due to societal disadvantages. But this has mutated to become far worse than anyone can imagine. This is mostly due to corporations t...

@YungDragon

Defacto Caucasian representation in all media is because the media you speak of is the media of Caucasian-majority countries. So it's a logical conclusion.

I agree with you that having Caucasians play non-Caucasian characters shouldn't happen. There was a time where Asian characters in cinema were played by white people and had make-up artists "widen" their eyes.

And not too long ago you had Jake Gyllenhaal...

Fate is an interesting example because you get all shapes, colours and sizes of mythical heroes. King Arthur being a woman was an intentional surprise within the story. That's the big difference. The Fate stories specifically tell you that numerous legends have become altered (both intentionally and unintentionally) over history. In the case of King Arthur, it was intentional as it is part of Fate's established lore that the common people of Britain though...

To be fair, Vikings did take slaves from any culture/people that weren't them, so of course there'd be descendants of races slaves of various growing up, living in and assimilating in Scandinavia. This isn't limited to Vikings, other nations did that too and you'd find the one or two descendant families usually living in a port town.

But in reality, the overwhelming majority of Norse people were homogeneous. Migration from far away lands were extremely minim...

Bangoskank has hit the nail on the head perfectly.

We live in times were identity issues are extremely charged up leading to a society of continuous paranoia. Paranoia that one is not being inclusive enough. And Paranoia of those who are paranoid they're not being inclusive enough.

It's ruining culture from all sides. West was already heading this direction but went turbo mode when Trump got in power.

There's no genuine poin...

True.

Wasn't defending the bugs on release. Just clarifying that Bethesda didn't develop it.

Bethesda did not develop this game. Only publish.

Plus, there's no real demand for Halo 5 on PC... Fans are much more interested in Infinite that's coming out in a few months.

It sounds more like a win for the little guy dev who still has their app on the store (and can now link to alt pay options) but not so much of a win for Epic as Apple are refusing to re-admit Fortnite.

In my view, that's a win-win.

Alright let's do this in bullet points:

- Is it wrong to have black characters in a videogame?
-- No.

- Should the dev ignore twitter comment and not fan flame wars?
-- Yes

- Does Norse mythology have black or brown skinned deities?
-- Most probably not.

- Is there a reason why Norse humanoid characters are white?
-- Probably because the Norsemen that made them up likely created...
