I haven't got a PS5 and have been wondering for a while now:
Is a PS5-enhanced version of a PS4 game exactly the same as playing the PS5 version?
For e.g. Spider-Man was released on PS4 and has an "enhanced" update when you play it on PS5. But Sony also released "Spider-Man: Remastered," Are these two effectively the same thing?
Yeh I understand what you're saying. It's not that I am hellbent against the concept of crunch. I get that there are some situations where it is unavoidable. The problem is crunch turning into regular work culture. I've also worked 16+ hour days too and they aren't pleasant.
I'm also specifically referring to CDPR's case where instead of giving the game the necessary delay it needs to get it done, they resorted to crunch.
The execs...
I remember the hostile reaction to the reports of crunch at the studio. I was telling people it's not a healthy work environment and there shouldn't be strong-arming of people to work in such conditions.
Working longer hours doesn't necessarily increase productivity. It definitely doesn't improve creativity. All you're doing is trying to reach deadlines as quickly as possible so naturally you're going to cut corners and compromise quality as much as ...
Yeh, I'd say this does deserve a solid 7/10. 1 point off for bland gameplay and 2 points off for horrendous bugs.
It seems the characters, script, story and aesthetics are highly praised while the gameplay is pretty generic for a 2020 Action-RPG game with braindead AI.
I think I'll wait till all the debugging work is done before I get this one. And considering how huge of a mess it is, that might take a year.
I can guarantee death threats had nothing to do with this and it has everything to do with shareholders' investment and putting an end to an 8-year development.
Sorry but CDPR deserve 100% of the blame. They kept a very tight lid on the development issues and that's why nobody knew what a buggy affair the game was until reviewers got their hands on a copy.
Remember that this game initially had a release date of April 2020. Add in the mediocre gameplay loop and dreadful AI, the game needed at least another year of serious polish.
Clearly CDPR had sky high ambitions but failed to achieve them - and this explain...
This is pretty much it. Technology-wise, it's one of the greatest I've ever seen. But in terms of gameplay - even the first game - it mixes established mechanics seen in plenty of games before. The only thing I thought Part 1 did that no game did before was its seamless blending of cinematic and gameplay. No game before had did it, and many games that came after were inspired by it.
Not that it has bad gameplay - of course it doesn't. It's fun and very polis...
The demo clearly lacked a hell of a lot of polish. Delaying it a year is a good decision. I just hope it only needs 1 year.
I doubt this decision was taken easily. It was a combination of bad reaction the gfx + Covid impact on XSX sales + pressure from Phil himself.
The old Microsoft before Phil Spencer would have most likely launched the game with the console - no ifs, no buts.
The gameplay was fine. It was actually a return to form.
People are judging it mainly on the graphics. It was obviously designed to be an Xbox One game.
Blind is an umbrella term for people who are partially visually-impaired as well as fully blind.
The problem is: No blind person asked for this.
I think you make a very good point when you mention colloquialism. A lot of people use the word "retarded" as a stronger word for "crazy." And in that context, "crazy" can mean a variety of things. I think a very small number of people actually refer to actual "mental retardation" when using that word. And most of the people who are offended by its use are not people who suffer from some intellectual disability.
This is the issue. Th...
One of the people who replied to that tweet said something pretty obvious: Words can have several meanings. The term "blind playthrough" has no negative connotation whatsoever. It's used as an adjective here with the meaning of "not knowing what's going to happen."
One of the activists used examples such as "Lame" "gay" "retarded" etc to prove his point. Even if society unanimously agreed all those words are morally ...
Article states the movement was by people with disabilities. I wonder how many of them are actually blind?
Sounds to me like your classic case of hypersensitivity with an unhealthy dose of insecurity.
Yeh, not good at all. Bioware is finished. Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect Andromeda were lame. And Anthem was a complete disaster.
It is truly bewildering how Square has yet to remake perhaps its greatest title of the SNES era.
Genuinely intrigued to see the next version of Halo Infinite now.
It does seem that MS has for once taken on board criticism. Hopefully 343i work environment has improved now.
Dictatureship
Never knew that "disfigured" is now considered ableist.
I mean, it appears the character was burnt in a childhood accident, and it's not affecting their "ability" at all. This is purely a scar. Why the hell is it wrong to describe it as "disfigured." What's next, we're no longer allowed to call anything ugly?

lol ok
People need to learn not to pre-order AAA games - especially when publishers very carefully restrict what's being shown in the media.
