Well, MGS4 is about a world where private armies are no longer relevant due to the political convenience of using private military companies. Governments do not want to drag their national armies into endless wars. A side effect of this PMC world is the overflow of weaponry into the hands of combatants fighting against government interests. In order to fix this, weapons were created with ID tag validation - a soldier's nanomachines as biometric identification. If you aren't authorised...

The in-engine trailer may be "fake as hell" or may not be "fake as hell." EA definitely is notorious for bullshots and downgrades. So is Ubisoft. But GSC isn't. They're notorious for buggy in-house engines lol.

Until we see a build that's more representative of the final product you can't accuse or praise GSC of anything. If GSC did use Unreal Engine 4 and their own assets to make this trailer, then they're not lying when they call it...

Only people engaged in irrelevant console wars care about the looks. For Halo purists, the gameplay looked like it was going back to its roots of Halo 1. I couldn't finish Halo 4 and didn't touch Halo 5. So the Infinite demo actually appealed greatly to me. Graphics wasn't cutting edge but has great art direction. The shooting and environments is the old beloved sandbox-style that made Halo fans fall in love with the game back when I was a kid.

Clearly, Infinit...

People seemed to have been expecting otherworldly graphics. i knew from the last major trailer that it won't be so cutting edge. After all, this is really an XB1 game ported to XBX.

More importantly, the gameplay demo looked absolutely amazing to old Halo fans like me. There are many who got into the series at Halo 3 or Halo 4 so may have felt underwhelmed by the lack of set pieces and cinematic drama. For me, this is exactly why I loved it. Pure gameplay and not script...

I think only fans of the first game and Halo purists absolutely loved the demo. I am included in that group. This is what Halo 4 should have been in my opinion. I finished all mainline Halos including ODST and Reach but didn't feel compelled to play more than a couple of hours of Halo 4. Then I saw Halo 5 Guardians and I realised why. Hopefully Halo Infinite does bring the series back to its roots.

I do agree that Hideo Kojima is extremely overhyped, especially nowadays, and that he has attracted a huge cult following in both players and deves.

However.

He is definitely one of the greatest and most creative videogame developers in history. Many of his titles are timeless and most of them have been hugely innovative. Death Stranding has many major flaws but none can deny that is is a very unique and special game that does many things that has never b...

One of Death Stranding's biggest problems is that its combat is far worse than MGS5's. Which makes no sense to me. I get Kojima didn't want to make a combat-heavy experience and that DS's philosophy was about connecting humans together and thus killing other humans becomes an obvious contradiction. But ultimately, this led to its gameplay to suffer. The hiking sim of the game was outstanding and is probably the first of its kind. But outside of that - combat, delivery missions...

One could argue that Ghost of Tsushima is the Assassin's Creed Japan game that fans have been waiting a decade for. It looks far more interesting than Valhalla.

Maybe one silver lining is replacing these execs with people who'll stop milking their AAA franchises to heaven and actually commit to making quality games instead of yearly products.

Black folk are naturally really afraid of cop encounters. It's no surprise - when every other week there's phone footage of a trigger-happy cop killing one of them. Many cases the victims were not criminals at all, but almost every time in these vids the victims were not a threat to the cop. Just because the stats of police brutality are lower than annual car crash stats, doesn't make the threat any less real.

Also, this idea of - don't fight the police dur...

Kneejerkism.

21st century white guilt does not address actual real-world problems. Inability to tell the difference between something harmless like these character designs and something harmful like police brutality doesn't serve anything.

I think it's a bit more complicated about that. I think one of the reasons they decided to do Midgar by it self (aside from the financial incentives) was that it was a linear portion of the game.

Square has been going through a very long journey of trying to evolve and adapt in the HD era of game development. It's mostly been a rocky ride with mostly failures - FF13 development hell, FFvs13 cancellation, FF13 series cash-ins, FF15 disappointment.

It's really cool, but aren't the old models part of the eternal charm of this timeless game?

Technically they did for the Nintendo DS.

To be honest, none of the characters look good - they all have a generic RPG Character Creator style to them.

With regards to major AAA games going the route of androgynous female character designs - this does have some truth in this. It's not so much that it's led by a "woke" ideology (though certainly some individual developers may hold this view) but I think more to do with publisher maximizing profit by appealing to mass audiences. It's no secret t...
