I'm surprised that they aren't updating to make it native for PS5.
They really need to upgrade the engine. That aliasing/shimmering (thanks to using deferred rendering for PS3) has made that game unplayable for me. Not to mention it runs awful on good hardware.
Here's to hoping that the other PC SH games make it too. Funny how Konami is doing these releases on GOG. Maybe they're testing the waters. Who knows.
The PS version was by far the worst version. Had to be even worse on PSNow.
You know, it still looks great today. It was state of the art when it released, and still holds up. I just recently finished it for the first time (my backlog is extensive haha). Performance is kinda eh on modern machines. Horror has been done better since then. But still very cool for it's time.

Not excited. No characters had that whimsical FF feel. Nothing screamed "FF!" to me. If it weren't for the chocobos and marlboro, I could have assumed this was some other jrpg brand.
Looked like an expansion for 14, tbh. And that's not a great thing to me. Think what you want, but when I saw the trailers for 13, or 12, I found them stunning. This? Not so much. :/
I think that if it had been able to play all previous PlayStation software (disc or download), it well may have finally bested the PS2.
