It's one thing to drive like a maniac and take yourself out. But taking others out in the process is unforgivable. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. RIP passenger.
Wish I could have gotten through 5. For some reason I just couldn't connect with it and I loved 3 and 4. Since release, I would try and restart the game every couple of years. And I complete less and less of it each time. My last save was pre-3rd castle.
I always thought exclusives were stupid. If I were a game creator, I would want my game in as many hands as possible. More sales can equal more games made and jobs being kept. That's how an adult thinks, at least. But nah, we have teen/tween fanboy wars over lumps of plastic under a TV and faceless corporations who could give a crap about a gamer. So corps cater to that.
"People disagreeing with this need to actually read the article. I'm quite sad that people are just going based on headlines."
You can't really be surprised at all though, right? Phones and social media have reduced the attention span of the average person to that of a puppy.
Gamers? Who are kids into their 40's? That of a gnat.
It's really quite simple. And it isn't all Microsoft. It's the industry. It saw that mobile money. That delicious, succulent, REPEAT mobile money and they drooled over that. Couldn't move in that direction quickly enough. And it was a complete culture change in the entire industry. And we're still feeling it.
Oh you'll get the occasional BG3. Very occasionally. An Elden Ring. But they are like the flies buzzing about a pile of shit.
Precisely what I am doing.
Yeah, downvote me for sticking up for the little guy while you support corporate scum treating said little guy like shit.
Did Id do right by Mick Gordon yet? Nah?
Marty Stratton still there? Yeah?
Then they can suck it.
Xenogears. Square may own it, but Tetsuya Takahashi and co. are part of Nintendo now.
:(
I was SO excited to see something about a new Turok.
Then it turned out to be...this. Another TPS. Yawn.
I remember back when I used to subscribe to EGM magazine. Used to take that, and Gamepro, and CGW (others too) to work with me. One thing I always liked were the game reviews because 4 people would review one game. And if something needed a 2, it got a 2. I remember you, Sushi X!!
Hope it does well. I can't see Mass Effect, the series I care about, getting made if this flops. Because I strongly suspect EA will close up shop at BW.
I think this is to test the waters and interest in the IP. See if there is still any fire. I doubt a full-on remake was ever in the cards. Not at this point, at any rate.
Great. Now we can look forward to yet another game with shader compilation and traversal stutters.
Woo.
I'm willing to give them the chance to make it right. ME is my favorite franchise.
If it sucks, then Bioware is dead to me.
Hope it does well.
Mass Effect ain't getting made if this flops.
When I was young, I never understood why it seemed that all the old folks were miserable and/or bitter all the time. Now at 50, I get it. From about 45 on it seems, you watch person after person that meant something to you die. Family, friends, musicians, actors, artists, and yes, game creators.
RIP Andy.
RIP James McCaffrey.
If only that RPG were a remake of Xenogears.
What is exhausting is never getting the full version of a game for one price. Games never done by their release date. Day 1 patches. Paid DLC that is nothing like the expansions of the past. Remakes and remasters in the place of real progress. $700 consoles. $2k graphics cards. I could go on (and on). In this hobby since the beginning. But I am now 51 and bowing out of it. Am I just aging out of it? I don't think I am. I still fire up old games.
The hobby has just lost....
