Preach. It was their Golden Era. I remember waiting for the holiday sales and getting a lot of great stuff at the steepest discount you'd see of the year. Now it's just the same sales they run all year essentially.
Some games just aren't for everyone. Witcher 3 was universally praised, but I have a couple friends who just plain don't like it. I'm in that boat with everything FromSoftware has released. I just don't get the appeal of dying hundreds of times and calling it "fun"
Being able to use Frame Gen with my 30 series gpu is pretty impressive. Granted I've been able to get +60fps in most games consistently. Cyberpunk with no RTX, and tweaked settings gave me a smooth performance. Adding frame gen brought the frame rate up to around 100fps with almost everything including RTX raised to ultra. Guess all of you attached to your physical media need to get ready to have a new hobby in 5/10 years. I don't know anybody even buying blu-ray or 4k movies anymore. How bout we just get with the times, and except that things in this world change. Soon all media will be digital only.
It's not being killed at the end of the mission that the big issue. It's being kicked so that you get nothing from the entire mission. I'll never join a game again. Will be hosting from here on out.
After being able to mod frame gen into certain games I'm convinced Nvidia was performing shady business. I know AMD is not using the card's specific hardware, but it works very well. Nvidia could have created software that did the same thing, while allowing owners of the 40's series to be able to integrate what's supposed to be a superior version using the cards hardware. Pretty sure whenever I upgrade my next box I'm going for an AMD build.
This happened to me for the first time last night. I was so caught off guard by it. I wasn't team killing, and I was taking down objectives and gathering damn near ALL the samples. I don't think Ray Tracing can really be judged in pictures alone.
Cyberpunk running with and without is fairly noticeable. Same with Alan Wake II.

It's funny because I've noticed that when I run with randoms we end up kicking the maps ass, talking about all or most of the samples and all objectives. Coordinated with the minimal in game pings, and confirmations etc. I play almost exclusively at level 7 as I find it's the perfect balance between challenge & fun, and we are leaving typically with around 8-10 reinforcements left.

Give Nukems AMD frame gen mod a look (AMD gave 20 & 30 series cards a longer lifespan). I'm on a 3080, and the game becomes very playable at 4k. I play at 1440p and I can run everything on Ultra w/ ray tracing (even path tracing) and getting 80 - 100fps that says a 3090 or 40 series card required.
