have a game delayed and be much better when released than have it now and be not as good. There are plenty of games coming out this fall anyway. Plus, I still play PGR3. They just better deliver the goods when Forza 2 is finally released. I have confidence they will.
Yeah, that's a great point. I do the same. Plus I've got several hundred songs on my PC that I stream to the 360. That does really hurt the PS3, the fact that it can't connect to a Windows-based PC. Streaming video through the 360 is also nice.
You've at least got to give MS an 'A' for effort.
Point is, there was still at least a third of the disc left for oblivion. If they wanted more textures, they could have. The developers chose not to for whatever reason, but it wasn't because of space limitations and therefore bluray wouldn't have helped.
Starbreeze is only using the extra space on the bluray disc for movies that will be shown on an ingame TV. This does not equate to better gameplay, better graphics, better sound, whatever. Personally, I don't stop to watch TV when...
I'm not going to reiterate my previous posts about Resistance, but it doesn't prove ANYTHING about needing bigger space. This 22 gig thing Sony fanboys are waving around is really pathetic. The game is nearing completion and it doesn't look as good as many other games that are completed, nearing completion, or even are far from completion (like Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Bioshock, etc.) that use DVD9. It's just more smoke until bluray games actually overshadow DVD9 games, which, personally, I...
If what you say is true, then explain to me why Resistance doesn't look nearly as good as many games that fit on DVD9.
Oblivion did not use up one DVD9. There was still at least 1/3 left. Your argument doesn't hold water.
It completely doesn't matter what Sony says, their fanboys will jump on it and spew it back out. Let's review. Microsoft announced that the 360's GPU will now display in 1080p with an update. First off, games for both systems are targeting 720p and hardly anyone has a 1080p TV, but that's besides the point. Point is, Sony was clamouring that it had the only 'true HD' and that turns out to be false. Sony tries a PR spin that really means nothing. Here's what they said, "Oh yeah, well our ...
this isn't one of those 3rd party products that makes your console explode.
That's how I think this game looks. By the way, it's only been confirmed for the 360/PC. I don't even think they're working on a PS3 version at this point. Even with the whole Assassins Creed thing, there were still screenies of the 360 version leaked out. I haven't seen or heard anything about a PS3 version of this.
Doesn't mean it won't happen, though. Rumors will flow like crazy about games being ported to other platforms until one of the big three pays to secure exclusive right...
You've at least got to give Microsoft an 'A' for effort. Hopefully it has some affect.
There are basically two types of RPGs, eastern and western. Obviously, you don't like eastern RPGs. Turn based combat is extremely common in eastern RPGs. As such, Lost Odyssey looks simply amazing. Mass Effect can be compared more toward Oblivion with its real-time combat, while Lost Odyssey would be compared more toward Final Fantasy. For its genre, I think Lost Odyssey looks practically unrivaled. The same can be said for Mass Effect. It is actually great to be a 360 owner, since arguably ...
You've just described JRPGs. Why do I have the feeling that if this game was a PS3 exclusive instead of a 360 exclusive you'd be saying how great it was and how much you can't wait to buy it? Really, just because a game is on a certain console doesn't mean you have to bash it. I like Xbox more than PS, but there are games that I play and praise on the PS. Why? Because they are good games. I just happen to like the direction Microsoft is going over the direction Sony is going. Games are games,...
besides Gears of War, I think this is the best looking shooter coming out this fall for any system.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant Japanese developers making Japanese 360 games for the Japanese market. They will always make western games like Dead Rising, etc. because those will sell on the 360 no matter what. Japanese gamers don't like western games, though. Japanese games need to be continually made for the 360 in order for Japanese gamers to want to buy one. If there aren't that many 360s in Japan, Japanese developers won't make Japanese games for it because most of those Japanese games ...
The same thing applies here that it did for the PS3. A vast majority of gamers don't have 1080p TVs and, just like the PS3, developers are targeting 720p. Yeah, I know the 360 will now upscale and it's good that it puts it on the same playing ground as the PS3. However, hardly anyone from either console's fanbase will use this. For those slim few, though, it's nice to have the option.
I agree that these games look great and I mentioned quality games in my previous post. My point, however, is that these games need to sell 1 to 2 million 360s in Japan for the Japanese developers to keep making games for the 360 after Microsoft stops paying them lots of money to do so. 1 to 2 million Japanese gamers need to take the risk that more Japanese games will continue to be released on the 360 for its entire life cycle. I'm not sure there are that many that are willing to take that ri...
Microsoft is caught in a catch-22. Everyone will agree that Japanese gamers do not like western games. Japanese companies didn't really support the Xbox, so it had very little Japanese games. Now Microsoft is throwing lots of money at Japanese developers and there are actually a good amount of quality Japanese games coming out for the 360.
The problem is that if these games don't sell systems and therefore sell copies of games, Microsoft isn't going to keep paying these companies t...
Hey, I'm just waiting for the game systems that have a big cable with a needle that jacks right into the back of your head. "I know kung fu."
that Sweeney is very favorable toward Sony while Cliffy is very favorable toward Microsoft. It doesn't bother me at all, as each person should be allowed their favorites. However, Sweeney shouldn't twist things around when talking about either company. Microsoft has already announced that XNA will allow user made content on the 360. Therefore, Sweeney is somewhat caught in a lie. However, what he may be refering to is that Sony just leaves everthing up to the developer, while Microsoft takes ...
