Yea, it's been pretty fun so far.

Although it seems that the imbalance that plagues all objective shooters is creeping into Brink as well. There's been a lot of matches where I've seen one side steamrolling the other. (all humans)
BC2 and TF2 have the same issue too. Oh well.

Don't see why I'd buy a game from retail when I can get a digital copy for 25% off and be able to play it right at the moment it launches.

Too bad those sales aren't taken into consideration. =/

If you don't like TF2, then chances are, you won't like this game.

There aren't that many similarities gameplay wise, but the core design and philosophy is the same.
i.e. Different classes have to collectively try to push through successive enemy choke points.

Granted, BC2's rush mode has the same design. Except someone could still single-handedly take down an MCOM with C4.

... yet here you are.

Also, they're teasers. Teasers usually contain clues. Hence the tease.

Depends who you ask.
To some, it sucks.
To others, it blows.

Me? I'm having a blast.

Aye.
I barely got into it (Megaton), and was a given a proposal by that one suave gentleman guy (Mr.Burke?).
Figured I'd take a break from the game and ponder over the choice.

I'm still pondering.

There's a new version (RC3) which was released recently.

From what I've heard, Brink is fixed for ATI cards.
I'll try and testing it when I get a chance.

... but they're completely different games. O.o

Brink isn't bad. I'm enjoying it a lot.

However, MondayNight, Magicka, NationRed and Amnesia offer a better value for the money.

Another sale?

... It's not that I don't have money, it's just... I don't have the time.
My backlog of games just keeps getting bigger. =/

"newcomer"?

Looks like you're a newcomer to gaming.

5515d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Not necessarily.

Emphasizing teamwork is done when the game is designed so that you have to work as a team or fail.
BC2 Vietnam has objectives and classes, yet you can lone wolf just fine. (It is harder to accomplish in vanilla BC2 due to enemies being bullet sponges)

The 'staying together' aspect is more emphasized in Brink. Which the reviewer didn't seem to enjoy. That, and even the focus on objectives was seen as a flaw as he felt usele...

From the impression I'm getting, it's a problem with the game.

My guess is that it handles a few (~5 ish) players fine... but as the human playercount increases, things go south.

So it could be that people getting good performance are just playing in servers with lots of bots.
Don't know.

I've asked a lot of people about the online on PSN.
Seems that for some, the game runs great, and for others, it's a nightmare.

SD are working on another patch, but still is disappointing that they didn't get it right to begin with. At least they're active about it.

1. It's a PC launch. Most PC games have issues on launch. Brink isn't as bad considering Homefront, BlackOps, and BadCompany2 had rougher launches on PC. Among them, only BC2 runs decent for me now (unless on rare occasions when PC rears its ugly head)

2. Some users are reporting better performance with older drivers. Fridays patch fixed things for a lot of people, but some still have performance problems.
Most people who are still suffering from performance h...

They did. The devs have been recommending people to use these drivers since day 1.

This is old news.

Well, they couldn't really deliver the patch with the PSN down, could they?

It depends on what kind of game you prefer, as the game is tailored towards a more team-play focused style.
Best bet is to either rent it (or borrow from a friend?) or wait till the price drops.

Although most of the bashing the game is getting is due to the technical issues which plague the 360's online.
The PC side has problems with a few GPU cards and sound occasionaly goes AWOL.
The PS3 has been a confusing story, some say online is flawless, ot...
