I wouldn't say PC gaming is any more stagnant than consoles. Both sides are pretty stale.
Most creativity is coming from indie devs, with only a few bigger developpers actually taking chances.

Right now it's riding the hype wave... but a lot of it's 'supporters' have never played a BF game outside of BadCompany.
I don't think they fully understand what kind of game this will be. Then again, who really knows when there's been only a small MP tease?

The PC-side is EVE Online, whereas Dust 514 would be on the PS3 only.

Black received decent reviews, and I think EA is trying to play things safe by going with the known franchises. With Criterion focused on the NFS/Burnout series, there really isn't anyone to keep Black going.
