OnLive is becoming harder and harder to ignore. I doubt it will ever replace consoles as my primary gaming device but it has my interest. I got Mafia 2 for $5 as one of their $5 Fridays and Amnesia: The Dark Descent for free :-)

More than likely I will pick up the games I might give a pass on consoles. Who know though...if the service gets better it may become my primary gaming device.

I wonder if Jessica Chobot actually does any of the "research" to find tips/tricks in these videos? I'm guessing probably not.

No. Its the kind of game I play, and dig out every 6-8 months to experience again, not unlike a favorite book. The game was too emotionally intense and deep (story-wise) to play in succession. It would ruin the experience for me. I'll get the platinum eventually but it might be a while.

I sell all of my old and under appreciated games through half.com. You list the condition of the game, a description and the price. Half.com (owned by eBay) pays for shipping and gives you a date by which to ship. They deposit the money in your bank account in a couple of weeks and "magically" you have twice as much money as you would if you traded your games in through Gamestop. The same applies if your trying to sell a game system although you can expect an even larger return. I s...

I compared Twilight Princess too heavily to Ocarina of Time and it somewhat diminished my enjoyment of the game. Granted I put some 50+ hours into it, but after that I was done. In my opinion Twilight Princess was lacking in atmosphere. I can't really put my finger on it but in Ocarina and Majora's Mask there was a sense of foreboding evil that was omnipresent. Confrontations and the different environments you explored were frighting. Perhaps thats just my impression as a child but th...

If they made it $30 and downloadable, I would consider getting it. Its getting to the point in which there is too much multiplayer goodness to go around, considering every new title has online multiplayer. There isn't enough time in the day/week to get good at every new game coming out. You have to pick and choose. Unfortunately, people take this mentality a little too far and buy up Call of Duty because there's little to re-learn and if your good at one, your competent in all of them...

I don't really "need" an upgraded Xbox or PS3 anytime soon myself.

I'm starting to get hyped up for Project Cafe though for better or worse. I hope Nintendo really comes through with innovation and graphics. If Cafe is graphically on par with the going on 6 year old Xbox 360, I will be disappointed. Nintendo can do so much more considering how much technology has advanced. With that said, if Project Cafe features controllers with 6" touch screen contro...

I anticipated heavy traffic so I simply downloaded the new firmware and changed my password. The demand to game online is great enough so that everyone and their mom is jumping online. In a couple of days the congestion should go away.

What many people fail to understand is that there is enough to play on 360 or PS3 with 3rd party titles alone. Microsoft generally has fewer first party titles however when all the top selling games on both systems are third party there shouldn't be any doubt that there is something of quality to play.

Personally, I've stuck with the PS360 combo for 3 years now and enjoyed all the best games on both platforms. To each their own.

You mean least preferred to most preferred right? Or are you referencing the article?

Clearly the most preferred for gamers is Option C. Having all the exclusives of both platforms and the best multiplatform games is the best option :-)

I think the reasons why the xbox 360 is able to "get by" without exclusives is a little more complex than the article lets on. First of all, its been around longer. More time on the market = more people gaming together on the xbox and potentially larger list of friends. People tend to game on the console all of their friends game on. Second, Xbox 360 is the console status quo for online gaming. The PSN network is reaching parity but it still is lacking in a few features (notably cro...

Hit the nail on the head. I totally agree, although Bioware left a couple of exceptions in for good measure. In Mass Effect 2 you can also get it on with Ms. Tattoo lady and your secretary. The relationships are meaningless but there.

Regardless, the fact remains that Mass Effect allows your character to develop romances that are worth caring about. Its hard for games and movies to add romance without it feeling artificial and/or superficial but Mass Effect gets it right.

If this game was $20 I would snap it up in an instant. The game is $40 dollars though...the same as Gamestop, Bestbuy, Target, etc. I still don't understand the unwillingness of Microsoft and Sony to compete with retail. Digital downloads are pure profit. There isn't any cost associated with manufacturing, retailer's cut, or the possibility of second hand sales.

Is it too much to wish for console manufacturers adopting a more Steam-like approach to digital downloa...

It blows my mind that there wasn't more quality assurance/testing before release.

If early adopters of Brink buy the game and hate it, chances are they won't recommend it to friends and further increase sales.

It would seem common sense, however, for some reason many publishers don't get it. Why not publish a more polished game and increase critical reception and mind share? I for one was excited for this game before all the reviews. What a waste ...

That makes absolutely no sense. Skype doesn't collect "royalties" from anyone as that isn't their business model. It won't change when Microsoft take over. The people running Skype now will continue to run Skype and keep it free (Skype to Skype users). The CEO of Skype will take on the position of Microsoft Skype's president.

Microsoft is not collecting royalties from anyone and the Skype app on PSP isn't going to magically disappear.

Why bubble up anyone that makes such near sighted comments? There seems to be a lot of that on n4g and its not limited to any one group of fans. Also, don't feed the troll.

Sony and Microsoft are competitors in some industries and partner in others. They have completely different businesses.

Skype will NOT mysteriously disappear on the PSP or cease to exist on NGP. It makes absolutely no sense to limit a voip like Skype if you want it to succeed. Perhaps ...

If Ubisoft releases this game as a full retail game they can pretty much expect it to sell like crap. I plan on buying it however I'll be one of the few and proud. Too many gamers fail to see the value in 2D gaming. Making it a downloadable title makes much more sense.

I'm pretty disappointed... I feel I'm one of the few people that was excited for this game. My intuition that it would be good was flat out wrong. IGN has been pretty hit or miss lately but I think they got it right this time.

Guess I'll be getting LA Noire.

Well written article. I agree whole-heartedly. Imagine if the Wii 2 had the same network qualities as the 360 and PS3...the mind spins.

I have the 3DS and still can't fathom why Nintendo would continue to use friend codes. Then again, the UI is essentially a refined version of the DSi with Wii-similar additions...Multiplayer for Super Streetfighter wasn't bad in any sense but the online could definitely use a little more refinement. It would seem as though Nintendo do...

Unless they get everything working right straight out the gate I'm more than willing to wait. I really appreciate the improvements made to the Slim; it was worth taking a loss selling my perfectly functional old 360.

Essentially they need the rock solid build construction of the original Xbox and the aesthetics and improvements to noise and heat of the Slim.
