The question is, why are people happy paying for upgrades?

I personally will never pay for a game to be upgraded, that should be updated for free.

This will encourage more developers/publishers to put price tags on these kind of things, fast forward a few years from now :-

(insert game name here) - £59.99

4K texture pack download - £3.99
Raytracing pack download - £4.99
Increased multi...

Selling game upgrades like resolution, effects should never be commended.

What is next, selling 4K texture packs?

1 - VR was never announced for any xbox, nor was it promised at any stage. (you may be thinking about AR - 2 different headsets)

2 - Why would xbox gamers be upset about something they have never had?

3 - How are Sony going to promote to the current VR adopters (after all, they would be primarily the audience for pre-orders etc) that they have to buy another headset, after paying £260 for PSVR1?

What is going to be the difference between PSVR and PSVR2?

"Digital only and subscriptions aren't ownership"

Neither is buying a game on disc, if the publisher relinquishes all licensing for that media, your "disc" is then worth nothing.

When you buy a physical copy, you are just buying a copy of the software, along with the license to use that software, the software owner reserves the rights to remove/redact your license whenever they want, so do not be fooled into thinking because you bo...

Maybe put it in a bag?

Chances are if you are commuting to work/college etc, you will already have a bag on you, if you want to game in your spare time, whip out the controller.

"you are being willfully ignorant if you think carrying around a controller to play games on your phone is ideal. Most are not going to do that."

That is why things that people use whilst travelling (i call them bags or rucksacks) were invented.

Those that want 360 emulation on PC, have been able to do that for years.

I have a PS2 emulator on my mobile.

I can not comment on other cloud streaming platforms, but the only issue i have had with xcloud, is the odd bit of freezing, but other than that the games seem to play ok, at least on my galaxy S9.

It's not perfect, but it is good enough for dropping into a game on a work break or lunch.

PS - when i am at home, i do not use xcloud, i use the console. And xcloud performs quite well for something still in beta.

My point being, devs/pubs will only get a small paycheck for a game on GWG for about 3/4 weeks, whereas the paycheck will be a lot larger for gamepass, therefore it makes more financial sense, for the game to be utilized on gamepass and GWG skipped.

"DJ, you make it out to be contracts like those companies don't get paid for GWG like game pass."

No, you made that assumption, i mentioned GWG is subject to a contractual agreement between the p...

That is why the best way to ever judge any game, would be to see/play it for yourself as opposed to reading a digital avatar's "opinion" on a game.

What, and take away what little value gold has? no.

"For this month, those games are Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, Truck Racing Championship, Dark Void and Hard Corps: Uprising. While they might be decent games, they’re not exactly console or subscription sellers."

GWG was never intended to be a system or subscription seller, people do not subscribe to gold for the free monthly games.

The games that appear monthly on GWG, are su...

Xbox gamepass for PC you mean, windows 10 gamepass is not even real.

Just makes you sound like you do not want to associate yourself with "xbox" through some secret brand loyalty love.

Be proud of what it is, and state things by their true name :-

Yeah i thought it seemed a bit off as well, at first reading, i assumed Microsoft were releasing a premium headset for the xbox Series X.

Then when i clicked, it was like "Yeah look at this new headset from B&O", i was like "ah.... right..... so just another expensive headset to add to the list available currently on all consoles?..... so what's with the headline?" lol

Everyone knows Bang & Olufsen headsets/headphones are expensive, this article is worded like because it is an xbox headset, that is why it costs nearly as much as a Series X.

Pure clickbait/fanboy wars title, should be something like :-

"New Bang & Olufsen headset, built in partnership with xbox, costs £499"

For reference, here is the Beoplay H95 cost £700 :-

I would not say ruined shooters, COD definitely went downhill after modern warfare 2.

Other shooters do not try and reduce the skill gap, you are either good, rubbish, or in-between, but that creates a sense and urge to be better, and progresses skill so you move from rubbish to in-between, and then in-between to good.

Auto HDR, is a software solution, that reproduces SDR content as HDR.

So games (mainly BC games) that are built with SDR, now display as looking like they have HDR.

In essence, fake HDR.

"So how does this work? In technical terms, Xbox Series X Auto HDR uses machine learning to cleverly reinterpret the original standard dynamic range image of your old games on a title-by-title basis. Xbox Series X Auto HDR achieves this by boosting...

"Hdr is the norm. Like it or not. Sdr content is over."

Question, how many channels host TV films/shows today that have HDR content available for viewing? if it is the "norm" surely most of them?

I know in the UK, channels still host standard definition content, and we have to pay a premium, just to get channels in high definition.

There are a few, a bare minimum, that offer 4K content, ...
