Switch is a console, so yeah, it gets compared to consoles on the market, not mobile.
@brrdat
It is easy to have a console in the top best selling of all time, when that console is released against minimal opposition.
Sony have not really had direct competition since the dreamcast, their only competition today is Microsoft.
The switch is currently outselling the PS4 on a weekly basis.
@s2killinit
That is probably why they say "ACTIVE" xbox live users, which at last count stood at 64 million active users.
@Razzer @Neutral
The software-tie ratio is what is important, software makes the money, and the tie ratio is higher on xbox.
Meaning xbox may have less consoles sold, but overall, xbox gamers buy more software.

xbox one - 50+ million
Wii U - 14< million
errr... no... no its not
@RosweeSon
Looks sell for 90% of products, as for me, a look of a TV is important along with what it can do (as i said in my previous comment)
So if a console was 4ft x 6ft, and you had to store it in your garage, you would buy it "regardless of what it looks like. I buy a console a games console for the games it offers nothing more nothing less."?
Sorry i wouldn't, i would rather not play the games and buy a different pro...
@spaceranger
Actually the closest competitor is the switch, Wii U sold around 15 million globally.
Sony about 2.2 - 1
Nintendo about 1.4 - 1
Not badly by any stretch, still made each company millions of dollars.
It's like saying "how much has iphone outsold samsung galaxy lolz"
What does it matter when both companies make billions of dollars.
@RosweeSon
Many factors can come into play for the need to see it, people that want it in a unit may need to know the form factor etc
That's like saying you know a car is fast, and your not bothered what it looks like.
When you buy a TV do you buy it because of the way it looks in addition to features? Me for example only buy TV's with the stand in the middle as opposed to the sides.
Some gamers, that are not...
Even though i do not have the finances for all consoles, i always love to see new tech, designs etc being announced.
I would expect that for a Sony related article, i am only here to laugh at some of the comments :)
I think all consoles are designed with developers in mind.
You would not design a console with anything else in mind lol.
lol at the disagrees,

So you are using Sony's and Microsoft's ecosystems, so when people say "That's totally fine you're still paying Sony to play in their eco-system either way." at least state facts, and not biase...
Which game is "better" is pure opinion. Some people like PS exclusives better, some like Microsofts better, for me i play the games on the console i own, which is xbox.
Have we not heard enough about specs/capabilities?
We know what it can do, now just let us see the darn thing!! (And give us a price)
@dangerclose
"That's totally fine you're still paying Sony to play in their eco-system either way."
And paying Microsoft to run the game... i don't see your point?
I do not have a "receiver", i am in the UK.
I just wire things directly to the TV.
My surround sound is about 15 years old (maybe more)
My current TV only has HDMI and no component connections
This just looks like an article to detract from the fact Microsoft will be showing next-gen games later today, with the most fanboy title ever read.
