Nah,
Everyone already knows that.
My apologies, you said
"Xbox is the only device Microsoft has that is a closed ecosystem without competition for games and services."
and then
"On my phone and on my PC there are a TON of other options that do not involve Microsoft at all."
You felt the need to disclose you do not use Microsoft's options when it comes to your phone/pc, i simply asked what options you were referring to.
@Razzer
"On my phone and on my PC there are a TON of other options that do not involve Microsoft at all."
So do you have a mac? or run linux on PC or do you have Windows? Do you use IE or Edge? Do you use Office applications?
thought so
"Does anyone think Apple would allow that to be run over by Microsoft's services?"
If it nets Apple another couple of million Iphone sales, just by allowing Microsoft services on their devices, why would they not?
lol
"The point is PS5 will use SSD's that you can buy off the shelf"
What and the Series X won't?
How much do you think an Nvme SSD matching the internal SSD of the PS5 is going to set you back? You will need to match the internal SSD, in order for the PS5 to be used to its full potential, just like with series X, if you want the bells and whistles, you need to run it off the internal, or nvme expansion, but you can use any SSD/HDD for exter...
You can not really compare the 2.
Microsoft showed games in development
Epic (not sony) showed their new game engine
@Newmonday
Source please stating that this can not run on the Series X?
I am not surprised this was not showcased on the xbox series X.
Epic games and microsoft have a history of not getting along. Tim Sweeney does not like what microsoft does in the PC space.

@Sampsonon
"Sorry to tell you but they said in the interview after the demo that other platforms, including Xbox SX and highend pc's wouldn't be able to run that demo unless they scaled back the assets."
Source please, i would like to read that interview, seeing as though Hellblade 2 is confirmed to be using the features announced in the tech demo.
And you really think high end PC's and xbox series X, can not run t...
@Foxtrot
Maybe Microsoft wanted to wait until June to showcase Hellblade 2 using UE5, instead of a game engine, that is on all platforms.
Maybe that is the only thing Sony has to show, as they have no games to showcase.
Who knows.
Let's wait until Sony actually SHOW a game being created using UE5, with all these amazing features.
They have not shown one yet, not one.
@NewMonday
No we have not "seen what the PS5 can do" that was a tech demo, of a game engine running on a PS5 dev kit, showing engine features available on xbox series X, PS5, and PC, as well as the engine being available on all other platforms for game developers.
Come back when we see PS5 gameplay from an actual game.
An 8 year old tech demo called agni's philosophy was supposed to show next gen RPG graphics, still waiti...
What game built for PS5 is using these UE5 features?
I am genuinely interested in knowing? What... none known so far??
Sometimes people need to be told things multiple times before they listen to the truth.
Tech demo's always look better than what gets delivered in the games.
Remember Agni's Philosophy?
If not here you go, bearing in mind this tech demo is 8 years old. Before the launch of the PS4. Same scenario, both real-time tech demo's.

Impressive eh?
@Echo_
sssshhhh, don't burst that PS5 secret sauce bubble.
I understand this is the 1st bit of PS5 news since the controller reveal, but come on guys.
These UE5 features will be on Series X and PC, just admit it.
@Caddytrek
"PlayStation will be able to support games that xbox can't run with 100% more SSD speed."
This stuff just gets funnier by the day. How, just how would the Series X not be able to run a game? It would still RUN, might just take a little longer to load lmao.
So are most 3rd party next gen titles now PS5 exclusives as Xbox Series X will not be able to run them.
Do you realize how silly you sound...
The salt is real this week with Sony fanboys, now they are trying to use a game engine demo (on a PS5 Dev kit - normally specced higher than retail release), to try and gain points, and spin it as some kind of PS5 secret sauce.
Failing to admit the reality that these features are available across all next gen.
Hellblade 2 - created using UE5
Now they are reverting back to the "Series X has no exclusives for 2 years lolz"
Better than being forced to upgrade day one to play the next game in the series don't you think?
If you are happy having to shell out 500 day one to play that next exclusive, fair play.
At least Xbox owners will have the choice on when they upgrade as they can still play the same games as day 1 adopters.
Said no one at Microsoft, ever.
