The difference is, xbox one games that are released will be playable on the series X, can not say the same for Sony, who have only announced a percentage.
Not saying they need to follow the same strategy as the competition, but usually you do not just show a controller, you show the console as well.

I'm a console gamer mainly, but even i am not under the illusion that SSD's are going to "revolutionise consoles"
