Notice how everyone is treating the Unreal Engine 5 announcement as some kind of PS5 feature showcase expose?
@Z23ash
If you said Halo Infinite was a Microsoft exclusive, you would get loads of dislikes.
People can not handle the truth!!! lol
Exactly, games very rarely turn out looking like these game engine's
I loved the agni's philosophy demo, still waiting for a game like it lol
I dont know what damage control there is to do as Epic games have stated this engine will be available on all platforms, even ios and android.
I think they had to wait for the UE5 reveal, before Microsoft could publicly state that they were using it for Hellblade 2, and what features it will be using.
Microsoft can not announce/show a game engine before Epic.
Unreal Engine 5 will be available on all platforms, even the PS4 and Xbox one.
It is only a game engine, used to create games.
Devkits are notoriously higher specced than the final console to allow for development.
Show this running on a retail PS5, that we have not even seen yet.
On the basis of a tech demo of a game engine where it is also being used for Series X games?
Wow, just wow.
This was running on PS5 hardware, but the exact same features are being used for games built on the Series X and PC, so all this "PS5 really delivered with this" kind of comments, people are really crediting epic for creating a new game engine.
@Babadook
All these features are also available on the Series X.
Whoops....
@WelkinCole
So how do you explain comments along the line of :-
"First we see Mark Cerny talking about what developers wanted to see and what they wanted to achieve. Then, we see a glimpse of the controller and it's new features. Next we see Epic display next gen possibilities using PS5."
And why is there about 6 articles about a game engine, and they all make knowledge of the fact it is running on a PS5, whilst omitting t...
It was a tech demo, in real-time. The tech is being used for Hellblade 2 on the Series X.
Stop trying to make out like this is some kind of PS5 only tech!!
From Phil Spencer after the reveal :-
"Incredible work by the team at Epic @UnrealEngine, many of our XGS studios are using Unreal, like the team at Ninja Theory creating Hellblade II, and are excited to bring these UE5 innovations to life on Xbox Series X."
Not gameplay, a tech demo of what a game engine is capable of.
Does not necessarily mean the graphic capability or features will be represented in games that utilise the engine fully.
Developers will pick bits of what they want to use, and do not expect developers to use all unreal engine 5 assets in their games.
@Outsider
Unreal engine 5 is on all platforms.
Next-gen starts when the consoles are out, not when Sony says so.
@Kayoss
Does not mean Sony will have a good Gen, they may have a bad one, so yeah, let's wait and see what happens and then start making judgements.
@Bouzebbal
When did i say all Sony exclusives are on PSNOW on PC day one?
@Bouzebbal
I think you mean Series X, as opposed to 1x.
Xcloud, you do not need a subscription for (still in preview and it is free)
You need Windows 10, to play any Microsoft exclusive. (Incorrect to state xbox games are on PC, better to say xbox games are on Windows 10)
Sony exclusives are also on PC, you can subscribe to PSNOW for 1 month, absolutely no need to invest in the hardware.
All your ar...
@Mr_Writer85
No, Microsoft just do not want to be caught out on anything this gen. You know whoever announces the price first, the other is undercutting. That is just business sense, has nothing to do with confidence.
Going by your logic, how come Sony have not announced a price? Do they not have confidence in their machine? I mean we have not even seen it yet. Or does this just apply to Microsoft?
Price always matters, especially when kids say "mum i want the PS5", and mum says "No chance, you can have the series X, its 100 quid cheaper son"
@Boing1
I want the Series X, there you go, now you know 1 person that wants it.
So like Microsoft Studios?
Not only that, they did not even say that.
They essentially said they will still support players of the xbox one ecosystem for the next 2 years after Series X launch. In which i am assuming after that games will no longer be created for the xbox one.
This happens with every manufacturer.
