So you do not own any digital games i take it? Which are all accompanied with DRM.

Sony Makes $18 on each PS4 sold
According to research firm IHS, it costs Sony $381 to make each PlayStation 4, which then sells for $399.99. (2013 data)

Wow, $18 off a 1 time sale, whereas 1 game costs $59.99.

Contrast this to the PS3 launch, where Sony paid around $800 to make each PS3, selling it for a substantial loss.

There you go, PS3 is one console that sold at a loss

@caddytrek

I do not understand your argument? Wherever Microsoft games are sold, on whatever platform, is still a software sale?

Profit is in software and services, so....

There you go sweet cheeks :-

"In computing, hardware acceleration is the use of computer hardware specially made to perform some functions more efficiently than is possible in software running on a general-purpose central processing unit (CPU). Any transformation of data or routine that can be computed, can be calculated purely in software running on a generic CPU, purely in custom-made hardware, or in some mix of both. An operation can be computed faster in applicatio...

Along with the "best" comes the highest price,

I hope you are ready?

@Wasabi

In no way was i avoiding the topic, nor attacking you as a person, i meant it in a way as the comments you are posting are rather long and descriptive, kind of a joke, maybe i should have placed /s at the end.

I also made a point that SSD's and hard drives for that matter, can send data direct to the GPU RAM, i am not wrong.

Wikipedia, is public written, so things that do appear on there can sometimes be false. From google ...

Can not possibly be all AAA, i am guessing quite a few mobile/low budget games with a few AAA thrown in.

I have not read the books.

I know Halo is a massive universe, but in my opinion, Halo is not Halo without the chief.

@Wasabi

Why do i feel like i am reading copy and paste descriptions from something like Wikipedia when i am reading your comments?

Also, in regards to PC GPU's with their own RAM on the chipset, they do not touch System RAM, unless they run out of their own RAM, so :-

"PC

System storage (HDD/SSD) >> System Memory (RAM) >> Graphics Memory (GPU RAM) >>> GPU"

Is fals...

Is that a personal quote? Because Carmack did not quote this.

2230d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

So Carmack agrees with the quote that what Sony has done with the SSD/IO setup is a big deal for Sony,

"Yes, being able to load GPU formatted data directly into GPU memory from an SSD is a Big Deal."

whilst also stating that GPU overheads still dominate,

"The only quibble I have with @TimSweeneyEpic's quote is that you can bypass kernel buffers on PC with unbuffered IO. The GPU driver overhead still dominates." ...

Would love a new perfect dark, or an IP, so whichever they go i will be happy with.

It is a continuation of the story in Halo 4, so yes it should be called Halo 5. The mistake they made was trying to have someone instead of chief (even though chief is still in the game and playable) but nevertheless a continuation of the story.

A spin-off game would be the likes of ODST, which Halo 5 is clearly not.

And infinite is a continuation of the story from Halo 5.

@lifeisgamesok

Have we seen a game using Hardware accelerated ray tracing yet on the PS5 or Series X?

So how can you make a claim that it looks better than hardware accelerated? It is a well known fact, anything hardware accelerated is better than software accelerated.

They have clearly stated they are showcasing 1st party games in the july showcase, and services etc in june.

Your comment cries salt as nowhere did i state games were at the june event. I repeat, in conjunction with the question in the title of "What we HOPE to see at the June event"

And i said i HOPE to see games, i then went on to state what game i am looking forward to.

Don't be angry, just enjoy the show!

@Angelic

I don't think it is so much trying to troll PS5 fans, as opposed to laying out truths that neither of these consoles will be pushing out performance that is not already matched if not surpassed in the PC space.

People just like to believe their beloved box of plastic is "innovating" in every area and the competition isn't.

SSD - no innovation - already matched in the PC space
Tempest engine (3d audio)...

To be fair, Microsoft have not shown Series X 1st party games as of yet.

Both will be shown in June, i will watch both events and then pass judgement.
