It is a good game. But funny there are multiple games marketed as GOTY. I suppose any game maker can put a GOTY label on their package. If anyone questions them they can say, "well it was the game of our year when we were making it"
People are unsure of games like these, even if it gets GOTY.
Racing games...ok we know what to expect. War shooters, ok yeah I know that will be when I buy it. Something titled Grand Theft Auto...I get ya.
Some game called Uncharted? Well what type of game is it? People say it is good, but I dunno if I want to buy it. (speaking rhetorically of course, I have the game)
So true. The difference is very minimal (or not noticable) on multiplats to most people's eyes. Both systems have good graphics, and it depends on if software is made more specific for a certain platform & ported over to another is the main reason for graphic differences. Buy the system you like based upon games & features, and don't trip on the minutia.
I disagree whenever someone uses the technology moves too fast reason when someone says a job is for the young. I work in a technology field for a large corporation. Our more experiienced people are usually the ones most up to speed on changes, and they coach our younger people. It is just a stereotype, because at least in the USA, there is a superficial part of our culture that does not respect people as they get older.
My thinking on this has more to do with what people want ...
In the era of forums & blogs, people express very strong opinions over all kinds of trivial things.
Too bad some of you can't seperate technology from fanboyism. You really limit yourselves in understanding cool things that are going on right now. I sometimes wonder if people post here are really young or really really really old, and out of touch.
As far as 3d, it will be content that drives the sales of hardware. When there is enough of that content available it will take off. I get what Greenberg is saying, and it makes sense for them to be cautious, since they are not TV ...
A company has to prove something like a cable caused damage, or they cannot void your warranty. I doubt Sony gives a crap what HDMI cable you use, when swapping out your hard drive with any SATA 2.5" laptop hard drive does not void the warranty. They even show you how to do it in the owners manual.
This is a ground issue as others have stated. A bad HDMI cable is not going to suddenly discharge 120 volts through it, but a short circuit to an HDMI cable (whether cheap or expensive) will.
The only difference between a cheaper & more expensive HDMI cable is the fragility of the connector. Cheaper made cables are easier to damage when plugging in or unplugging. A digital signal is exactly the same on a functioning cheap or expensive cable.
When games are 60 bucks, I only buy those that I think will have good replay value...and replay them.
Man, I'd love to have a job where you get paid to never finish anything like the people working at Polyphony Digital! That would be sweet!
Nice. TM2 was also one of my all time favorites. I played that waaaaay past the point even most fanatics would be sick of playing the same game over & over!
Great graphics is all relevent to your experience. I have been playing video games since the very early days. Because I remember where things came from all the way back to Pong, most games look good to me in the HDTV era with current game consoles.
It will be very popular with those already fans of Halo. There are a lot of Halo fans, but this game "owning 2010"? Nah. There will be a lot of good games competing for dollars in 2010.
yeah, online deathmatch would be so frickin fun. Blowing up real players cars...that would be very satisfying!
I miss Twisted Metal not being in the next gen. Frantic, intense car deathmatches! Updated graphics will be cool, but my hope is game play is really good, with good driving physics. Some of the pretenders trying car combat games had a really wack feel to the driving. At it's heart, it is still a driving game.
LOL Ashira, you make zero sense. Excercising outside is bad for people? On the C02 issue (carbon dioxide for those that skipped school to play video games):
The outdoor concentration of carbon dioxide can
vary from 350-400 parts per million (ppm) or
higher in areas with high traffic or industrial
activity. Carbon dioxide concentrations indoors can vary
from several hundred ppm to over 1000 ppm in
areas with many occupants present for an extend...
Some people just want things easy & laid out for them by everyone else...even parenting.
I'm tired of this term "hardcore" thrown around about games. It is pretty lame to describe video games like that. There are MA games, and kids games. That's really what we are talking about. There is nothing hardcore about being at home in front of your TV playng a video game.
Damn, dude...you are soooo hardcore shooting virtual people on your game console. What a badass! Haha
According to all interviews I have read, the makers say you have control throughout the game. We'll just have to see how it is when it comes out, instead of repeating rumors we read on the Internet, won't we? ;-)
I dont know why there is mystery on what kinds of games are suitable for motion control, when Wii has already charted that course and given us real world examples. People that play MA games for long hours at a time, are not going to be interested in getting all worn out using motion control, and not having multiple buttons for complex input commands.
I'm not trying to say it will fail, just that it is only going to be popular for certain types of games similar to Wii.
