Obviously darx is one of those gamers that thinks every single game should be made to please his taste. I suppose you buy every single game that is ever made darx, and that is why you do not approve?

Ren & Stimpy was never meant for kids by it's original creator. The corporate pinheads bought the rights from John Kricfalusi, and totally ruined that show, because they just didn't get it in the 1st place. Some things are a singular idea from one creative individual, and just don;t work as coroporate churn & burn crap.

I think most of 'em only care about it a lot when it comes to arguing on the Internet.

I'm guessing if you found a source of electricity for your game player, you aren't really stranded.

They want to crash the Wii shovelware churn & burn party. Cheap games made quickly sold to parents for their little rugrats. That's where the money is.

"New meaning for dimwit."

Haha, I love how they ended that story.

I'm all for pushing the envelope on technology...but this time around they really need full backwards compatability for people to buy into yet another format upgrade. We don't want to feel like we wasted a lot of money buying into the move from DVD to Blu Ray.

Funny, the article seems like one of the few rational things that someone writes about a game system, and the romper room crowd comes on with their irrational rants about it. Always a constant reminder here why video games are still considered something only for children.

It's not so much Sony, but one bonehead spokesperson not thinking about what he is saying. The guy was obviously not trying to dis naughty dog...but he did.

It's the content that will drive people to fork over money to upgrade if they don't have a cpatable set, not the "cool factor" of new hardware. It is not the enthusiasts that are already planning on upgrading that will make the difference, but the much larger group of unconvinced masses (that budget their money) that will make the transition successful. Like the author of this article, I have a lot of doubts the masses (while still in a downward economy) are going to rush out &...

I could see it worthwhile to upgrade TVs for someone ready for an upgrade. I love my current plasma HDTV, and it was expensive when I bought it a few years ago. Unless it blows up, I will not be in the market for an upgrade for a long time.

Having both motion & traditional controllers is the best of both worlds when done on a single console with good processing power. I can see that ambition is a good idea from a business sense.

But I also see valid cause for alarm by us old school gamers. We don't want to go to the store one day down the road only to find a bunch of sh*tty Wii type games as our only choice because they are cheaper & more prifitable to make by the software makers.

And let...

Yes, let's stop the jingoistic BS in these discussions. We can all be a community Internationally in our shared interest in technology & games.

They have the basic technology, but it isn't good enough video quality at this time for mainstream home consumer TV. It might be many years before it is perfected. Here is a brief article that talks about technology Philips is working on in glassesless 3d.

Activision has become the McDonald's of video gaming. They make assembly line McVideo Games. They taste good when you are hungry, but give you a stomach ache when you eat too much of it.

Console gaming is better for the consumer. I say that from the perspective that I could still buy games made for my PS2 ten years after it was made, but hardly new games worked on my much more expensive PC five years after it was made. Heck, unless you are totally following the PC industry, you don;t know that you are going to have a new OS being rolled out in a year, and that games are going to be optimized to work on that OS instead of the one you are currently running. And then you have th...

We will have to wait & find out, of course. But the interesting thing that no one really mentions, is that we can look over to the Wii as an example of what kind of audience likes motion control. Things may not go that way with Microsoft & Sony when they do motion control, but because there is a real life model to look at, no one can say Wii is not the perfect test case of what demographic likes motion control- and that is "casual". The "hardcore" games for that s...

haha. When people get really irate over these things, I keep thinking...How can people be so upset because someone doesn't like the same appliance that you do.

appliance [əˈplaɪəns]
n
1. a machine or device, esp an electrical one used domestically
2. (Engineering / General Engineering) any piece of equipment having a specific function
3. (Engineering / General Engineering) a device fitted to a machine or tool to adapt it for a specific purpose

For better or worse, there is many years of training with PS users having the same general controller layout for each generation. I think most PS users would be annoyed by a change in design. It is like a comfortable old shoe to plug in the next generation box & not have to adjust at all with how you control the games.
