I think you are missing the big picture with a "stick it to the rich corporation" mentality. Because a corporation is a large group of people working together for a common goal. And the more people working these days, the better for all of us. So unless you like double digit unemployment, and the only jobs to find are working at a gas staion or convenience market for minumum wage, you might want businesses to be more successful these days instead of less.
Weed is too nice a term, because weeds at least photosynthesize (do some work).
I prefer the term "parasite" when describing pirates. Because like a parasite, they do nothing but suck on their more evolved hosts for survival. And eventually kill the host that supports their life when they proliferate too much.
Let's not BS people on this topic. Nobody does illegal downloads & copies of software so they can preview things for a real purchase.
All the justifications people try to come with are straighforward acknowledgements they know they are doing something worng...otherwise you would not need to find justification.
I don't think it was overrated. It was a very good game. Look at all the games that have come out on this gen of consoles...this one has to rank pretty high in comparison. There is so much attantion to detail, and I thought it was great fun.
I think the vocal opinions against it are from people that had played all the other GTA games, and were expecting specific deliverables in this game. I myself judge it based upon how it stacks up to other games this gen...and that i...
Haha, you would really love Microsoft if they had no competetion from Sony. We would have the same version of Xbox for 15 years with no improvements. Awesome.
Unfortunately DLC is used in a shortsighted way to get more cash, and not in way that creates good feelings from consumers. I wonder if companies will start seeing diminishing returns with DLC. I for one, buy hardly any DLC anymore, because I think it is mostly used to scam customers.
No doubt. Thus far I've spent 90 dollars on Borderlands. Why don't I get some free stuff Gearbox?
People with brains & money support businesses they want to keep making gaming products, by purchasing from them.
If you are stupid & cheap, then you would buy crap like this.
I think you are spot on. They are pushing this through aggressively. they want to get in all those "me first" sales, and say they had success. They will keep saying what they think people want to hear to keep momentum going for that first sales push.
It is a laughable, feable argument that you are entitled to obtain products illegally, because you think they are overpriced. This defense of piracy is illogical, and sounds like someone making excuses for something their own conscious is reminding them is wrong. Your point about it having no affect is counter to the absolute fact that rampant piracy is ripping off billions of dollars from legit businesses.
But why not wait until the features you want are realities instead of possibilites, when deciding to spend $150.00 on a peripheral?
It sounds to me like buying an empty box, hoping it will be filled with something cool later on. I'd rather wait until the box is full, and I know what's in it before deciding if I should buy it.
Funny thing about Kinect, is I think it is interesting technology, and don't have any dislike for what it is. I just think it is a joke that MS is shoveling so much BS when they talk about it. The people they are BSing are those that know enough about games to know they are disengenious.
Do us a favor MS. Come clean, and tell us like it is. This toy is geared towards the cash cow that is the young Wii demographic, that begs their mommy & daddy for that new virtual ...
DLC is a great addition to this generation of consoles, but unfortunately it is not used in a great way. At first, there were signs of promise, with games like Burnout Paradise rolling out multiple free expansions.
Then came companies selling all the stuff we used to just unlock in games. Or mission expansion DLCs that turn out to have very little to them for the money they charge.
So I am very suspicious of all DLC now. And I am very suspicious of brand ...
For those of us that are into the hobby enough to read & talk about what is going on, it is what the dvelopers say that give us a forecast of what kind of games we may be seeing in the near future. I would take heed of comments by developers when they speak of limitations they will have making a game for certain platforms.
I think it has to do with a little thing called competing for holiday sales. Business that sell similar products do that kind of thing, ya know?
Halo affect is a double edged sword.
Those of us that aren't interested in that game, look at the 360 & wonder why we should buy an additional console. Although I still enjoy a good FPS now and then, those kinds of games are kind of played out to me. I have been playing video games before FPS was invented, and played a ton of those over the years.
I know there are other types of games for the 360, but what I usually see in ads are the big selling ...
Might as well just ask the question, does anyone want a good new TV? Because all the good ones now have 3D as a standard feature.
Cutscenes in games like Uncharted, and how they seemlessly move back to user control = YAY
30 minute long, confusing as f*ck cutscenes in games like MGS4 = NAY
I agree it was pretty bad - for me on the PS3. I personally think they pulled a fast one on PS3 owners by releasing DLC that is not even suitable for commercial sale, from a quality standpoint. I guess there is money & politics behind all that, because normally Sony doesn't allow broken games to be sold on the PSN.
So you are an anomaly if you are an honest person that buys software after previewing it illegally. The laws against piracy weren't created for an anomaly like yourself. And the laws are not going to change for you.
As far as test driving the car comparison...the only way to compare is if you stole the car without permission, test drove it, then contacted the owner saying you would like to buy it. Now that doesn't sound very nice, does it?
