Interesting to me that people act surprised to see that many find this game offensive. I myself am not overly sensitive, but do see why people see this game as disrespectful. We all know these games are for fun, and we laugh about "killing each other". Whereas people over in Afghanistan aren't laughing while they are getting shot & blown up for real. It is no joke what's going on over there, and doesn't not seem like a good source for amusement IMHO.
Yes, this is a must for me if I am to be convinced to buy a new console. PS3 games are 60 bucks each, and I have a lot of them. I am not going to buy the next playstation if it can;t play these games. I don't want multiple consoles cluttering up my living room.
Was it a fun game? yes
Did it sell a lot? yes
Did it end setting up a new character? yes
Oh, there will be a sequel.
There is no war. It's just part of doing business for an electronics company to keep breaking the hacks shortly after they come out.
You know who has a harder time keeping technical secrets than electronics companies? Hackers. They ensure their hacks have limited shelf life by spamming the entire Internet with the technical details.
a completely uneccessary overpriced joke
Funny how Microsoft is still stubborn on adopting a now standard drive format, and being passed by by all electronics companies...who have finally moved beyond old fashion DVD from the early 90's.
I think MS truely lives up to the funny image of being old fashion & square in those "I'm a Mac, & I'm a PC" television commercials.
People like me that work in IT, view hackers as equally low as pirates. And because I work for a financial company, anyone getting caught trying to hack us will have a nice vacation in Federal prison.
I don't know about ruining the industry, but this is a good article with some very good points about some lameness in the video game scene these days.
But while the big budget games cater to the lowest common denominator, there are always nice alternatves from the smaller game studios.
It had issues because it was hastily ported to PS3 in 2007 when their was not the wealth of subject matter experts on PS3 programming as there is today.
Heck, even Valve themselves now have PS3 programmers on their staff.
Agreed.
Treyarch/Activision? Haha, whatever. I'll pass.
I would like to see them bring back the dedicated crash levels, like in Burnout 3. The freelance crash diversion in Paradise was not nearly as cool & funny as the elaborate staged crashes in Burnout 3.
trolls exist on every forum.
IMO Blu Ray has held itself back on the movie scene by charging $10 more than a DVD. I buy less Blu Rays than I used to buy DVDs, because I only buy Blu Rays that are 20 dollars or less. I will not pay 30 dollars for a movie that I may watch twice at the most.
@ hennessey86
A "gen too soon" seems like a dubious claim when in fact it was introduced at the time the technology was ready to bring to market. Large electronic companies such as Sony are willing to fail in the process of trying to introduce new technology, otherwise they run the risk of being passed up by competing companies. Keep in mind developing new electronic products are core to their business, regardless of the gaming world's opinion.
We already have something where we sit still, and just use our eyes...it is called watching TV.
Pointless argument, because software piracy specifically refers to copyright violation. If there is no copyright violation in a legal sale, then it is not piracy, regardless of the spin someone puts on it.
You have to let your eyes judge whether a game looks good, and not some resolution chart tell you. We are not talking photography here, we are talking about computer animation. You can have very clear animated images at 720P.
Maxed out is inevitable with consoles, but that is not a bad thing for many of us gamers. One of the reasons consoles have won over gamers that used to PC game (like myself) is the stable, predictable, and yes static unevolving hardware. As a consumer, I am not aligned to developers' desire to always want to challenge hardware to the point it needs to be upgraded to match the software's thirst. I know some like to geek out on the PC hardware/software arms race, but that really doesn...
So what if it is a Wii rip off? A Wii rip off with better games sounds like a good idea.
I want my money back for Noby Noby Boy. Probably one of the lamest things I've ever bought. Oh well, at least it was cheaper than lunch at McDonalds.
