Yikes. Erasing your game save is about the worst glitch you can have. That can make you go insane if you get far into a very long game.
I understand the drive for perfection. But as far as a business goes, Polyphony seems like they are mismanaged when they do this over & over & over & over again.
Most games are 3 times the anemic size of MW single player campains.
As a PS3 owner, this is the one game more than any other 360 game I would have chosen myself to come over to the PS3. So I think it is a big deal, whether it is a straight up hand me down, or if there are some extras.
And they are usually drawn/rendered by other dudes. LOL.

As far as games go, I don't care if the character is a roid dude or booby girl, robot, or whatever. Just make a good game that is fun to play. I don't buy games based on box art & screen shots.
You can determine a game is not going to be bigger in scope by a few minutes of promotional game play videos, cut scenes, and still photos?

But on the other hand, there is more interesting expansion with new things to play with if it moves forward. You can only run around skinning critters in the old West for so long before getting bored.
What ultimately makes good business is happy customers that want to keep coming back & spending more money. Short term gains in ripping off customers makes for bad business in the long run, when you start gaining a bad reputation as a dishonest business.
The manual is inside the box. So if someone at a store is telling a customer who doesn't know squat about a device they may be buying for their kids or grandkids...that they should pay an expert to set it up, then they are pulling a scam on their customers. If they weren't money grubbing scammers, they would take the time to explain to a customer how easy it is to set it up, instead fo trying to get them to pay for a service to do that.

I can relate as a musician. Because I have studied all kinds of music to grow as a musician, I have ended up loving all kinds of music. I find it is usually people that don't know how to play an instrument that are most vocal with negative opinions about music they don't like. Or so-called musicians that can only play one style of music.
I never use it. But it is necessary. That is my first path to restoring my system if something gets tweaked, and I can't boot from the hard drive.

I have seen similar displays for Geek Squad service to set up a PS3 at your house for as ridiculous fee. People may say nobody makes anyone pay for this, but I still think it is dishonest, because they make uninformed customers think there is some complexity to this that they shouldn't attempt. But the average five year old can learn how to hook up a game system, with the few connections it needs.
It will never happen. These decisions are made by executives looking out for thier corporate image, not developers wanting to take a stand & not alter their game in any way.
It's too bad that people think that compromise is a terrible thing these days. A wise person constantly evaluates all sides of an issue, and questions themselves why they continue to stand their ground.
The reality here is this is game company, selling products. There are shareholders that want this company to move product, not sacrafice sales for political or ideoligical stands.

I don't see this as a disrespect to gamers. What I do surmise from this is they probably found some major flaws very late in the process. If they are backing out of the 11/02 date to "polish the game" after all the release date drama before, it probably more than trivial tweaks to polish the game. They probably found some things that are broken, and need to be fixed.
