Good to see there is an improvement despite the challenges plaguing this generation.
At the end of year 5, the ps3 received a pricecut making the 160GB model $250 and the 320G GB model $300.
I miss those days when there was not so much demand for microchips and the prices of things generally came down.
Now everything seems to be a smart device with very few companies to supply the needed chips.
This is looking unlikely as earlier this year Niel Druckmann said gamers should not expect more from The Last of Us. Those 2 games could be it.
I would like to be surprised though.
This gets posted to the site way too late. It is now December 31st. I just claimed the Trine collection this morning. I think it may still be there for those who are interested.
I am still bummed out that I missed Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel. I may just buy that game if the need arises.
I hope they go all out with the presentation since the last game was a cross-gen release.
I can't wait.
I remember when Split Fiction came out early this year, and it received acclaim from both gamers and critics. Some even called it the first Game of the Year contender.
Fast forward to today, I don't think it has even received a mention on anyone's list. I haven't played the game as yet, but I find it strange that no one remembers the game exists.
Good job for completing Ghost of Yotei. I haven't even finished Ghost of Tsushima as I got burned out with doing every single side quest. I stopped playing when searching for the pieces of a legendary armor. The game is one of the best games on playstation and I will definitely make an effort to complete it in early 2026.

The console enthusiasm itself is in bad shape, but the software is looking good. I believe they plan on releasing the new fable, gears and forza horizon in 2026. All 3 of those franchises have won game of the year in the past and the best part is that they will be available on ps5, xbox and PC though I am not sure if it will be day one on playstation.
2026 looks to be a good year for game releases, however, based on the speculation, hardware prices for all 3 major platforms...
The PS5 Pro is a powerful console, but I would not compare the PS5 Pro to a high end gaming PC. The CPU in high end PCs, such as a Ryzen 9000 series, is about 3 to 4 generations ahead of what is in the PS5. I would also consider a high end GPU to be a 4080, 5080 or 90 class GPU, which again is far ahead of what is offered by the PS5 Pro, as AMD has no actual consumer grade GPUs that can compete with those offerings.
Another thing to note is that even if the PS5 Pro were co...
I wouldn't call him a PC guy because he is writing from a firsthand point of view. A PC guy would not know that much about console gaming without actually owning those devices.
The point of the article is that the benefits of console gaming are being eroded by the increase in prices on hardware, games, and subscriptions. With a console being in a closed ecosystem, a console only gamer has no choice but to pay whatever price is set by Playstation, Nintendo, or Xbox.

This article is 4 days old. Unfortunately, I missed this game when it was free.
Who is even buying the Xbox at those prices?
It is worth it depending on the type of gamer you are. If you are very young with tons of free time, enjoy single player games but see them as one and done experiences, then Game Pass Ultimate would be valuable to you because you are basically getting games from not only Xbox, but from EA and Ubisoft as well. If you are new and have no library, you may see some value in the service.
For people like myself, though, who are a bit older with limited time to play games, Ultimat...
It seems every year is a defining year for Xbox, and at this time every year, we are left disappointed, thinking next year will be better.
That 30% profit target set by the new CFO is damaging the brand into oblivion. They have no room for goodwill gestures, or they risk not meeting their target.
I didn't get one. :(
That sounds like a good safeguard.
I heard several youtubers make the excuse that if they give it console prices, then crypto miners and corporate offices may buy them up in bulk but they can be solved by implementing a strict order limit.
As to my thoughts on the price, I don't care what Valve says, it has to be priced below $600 to make sense because I see pre-built PCs on sale during black friday with better specs than the steam Machine going for around $800.
I played it when it launched on ps5. I did every single side quest and did my playthrough as a net runner. I really should do another playthrough and do the dlc but I want to do this in VR if I can get a capable rig.
I want a fan of the Horizon series to answer this question. Is Lego Horizon Adventures a good game for people who enjoyed both Zero Dawn and The Forbidden West?
I don't care about what the reviewers think; I want to hear from real fans of the series.
In my opinion, Anthem was a good IP that was worthy of a no man's sky or cyberpunk 2077 treatment.
To this day, their sub reddit is active and I was able to get into a game quickly a few weeks ago when I booted it up.
It is a shame EA and Bioware didn't want to give the game the overhaul it needed to turn it into a competent looter shooter.
