I found out a few days ago the game is actually a single player RPG.
When my friend first shared the reveal trailer, I was hyped for the game until I saw that it was being made by Pearl Abyss. At the time, the wind left my sails because I thought it was going to be another MMORPG, but now my interest has gone up again. I will wait for the reviews.

I was going to say here we go again with this dance from Game Freak, but it looks like they actually put some effort into this release in terms of the presentation from what I see in this trailer.
They still need to figure out how to get voice acting in the game. It is strange they struggle with this even though they have an Anime that is running for about 20 years now with a voice cast right there.
Bring PSSR or FSR4 to the base PS5. If they can do it with the steamdeck by junping through some hoops, they should be able to do it with the base PS5 as long as there enough will from Sony.

I was a fan of the Xenoverse series and played both Xenoverse 1 and 2, but I think I will pass on 3 unless they do some significant changes to the gameplay.
I didn't play this on the original Playstation, but I did buy the steam version after hearing about the amazing mods that are available. Square Enix definitely made the right decision to re-release this game on multiple platforms decades after release.
I am still wishing for the day Nintendo releases the original Pokemon Red and Blue on mobile with online features.

I am confused. What was wrong with the Horizon 2 gameplay?
The focus of the game was to use the appropriate weapons to detatch craftable parts before killing the machine. This added a lot of challenge to the fights. They also revamped the melee system to allow alloy to do combos and special abilities were added that applied buffs.

It would be in Sony's beat interest to not rush next generation. Let 2029 or 2030 be the start of next generation. There is clearly plenty of demand for the PS5 and gamers are not asking for more at this time.
When we saw that teaser trailer for Avowed, the hype was through the roof because we all thought we were getting an epic fantasy like the elder scrolls or lord of the rings.
When the gameplay was finally revealed, it looked nothing like the original trailer and my excitement for the game crashed. I am not sure why they didn't stick with the original theme because the game would have done a lot better if they did that.
The Outerworlds 2 didn't even make it into the top 20 downloads of 2025 on Xbox so gamepass is not the only reason the game underperformed.

I bought the game yesterday on steam for $4 because Square Enix is trying to replace it with a version that has no mod support.
Prior to yesterday, I had no idea the game had so many great mods until people started making a fuss out of it.
The visuals look a generation ahead of FH5. I can't wait to learn more and to see what set pieces will be in this release.
